Default LMA Awards 2003 Part Two

And to Tuesday's awards - time for the next part of the 2003 LMA Awards sponsored by Codemasters - the second of five days and five threads highlighting the best (and worst) that this forum has to offer.

While we do have some great forum members on here we also have to have at least one 'worse of' category and that's today.

Also, we've got the one of the highlights of the award ceremony - the hotly-contested Newcomer of the Year award. So, without further ado (whatever that is), let's give out some awards!

----

3. Best Newcomer - this gained a lot of different votes with ten different forum members nominated. Personally, why didn't I get more nominations? Eh?

The nominations included:

Grizfoot
NZ Spurs
Zero Override
ACE1979
Red Devils2003
Rubbergenius

But among the nominations one clear winner stood out, with his sparkling wit, his love of obscure north-Lincolnshire football clubs and Kiwi sensibilities...

And the winner is: NZ Spurs!

A second award for the New Zealander, proving that being on the other side of the world isn't a handicap to effective LMA-playing and forum participation. Well done sir on winning your second trophy - it's well deserved, especially in light of the excellent, award-winning, Scunny 'long' thread - the 'piece de resistance' (as wot the French say) of the LMA forum this year.

----

And on to award number two of the afternoon, and it was certainly a close-run contest for this one (!):

4. Worst Speller on the LMA Forum - Alright, this wasn't the closest contested award that we had going, but at least it was the funniest. And this is an award that carries with it a mighty burden - one of continued ignorance of the rules of spelling and grammar. Long may it continue!

Nominations included:

Pearty
LUFC Rule
Riisefan (also winner of the 'Where is he now?' and the 'Thank God he's gone' categories )

But the winner is and had to be: LUFC Rule!

Well done to you LUFC Rule and hope your terrible spelling is an inspiration to a new generation of LMA/Club Football players to play well and spell badly! Congratualtions.

----

That's it for today - as usual throughout this week there'll be more tomorrow, with the announcement of the awards for Best (non-LMA) Thread and Most Sensible Poster of the Year.

See you then - but for now, goodnight!

----

Well done everyone!

I think people must have forgotten that you only joined this year RG. Still, NZ has contributed much to this forum in recent months, another worthy winner!

Congrats to all nominated, and a special well done to our dear friend LUFC Rules. I don't think there was any serious competition for that award!

Roll on tomorrow!
