i thought i would put up this thread as i would like to know how people feel about the previous lma games in terms of them being far too simple and basic and wether u would like the next lma game to continue in that way or if you prefer the game to become alot more complex, in depth and challenging.
i personally ( and dont slaughter me for this ) have become extremely bored with lma 2005 just as i have in all the previous lma games only coz of the simple fact that the game is just too basic, i feel its a bit too much of a yes or no type of game. i was always hoping that the next one would have alot more depth but i always felt really badly let down apart from the match engine which i really love. this time round tho i think my prayers have finally been answered as lma 2006 obviously looks alot more in depth and lma in general is heading in the right direction in my view. what do u lot think about the future lma games moving on from its basic style to a more complex manager game? |

I think that lma can do with a bit more depth and detail, but dont go over the top like certain other manager games have. By the sounds of things lma 2006 is perfect, they have imporved it a hell of a lot but haven't added ridiclous things to the game and I have a feeling lma 2006 is going to be the most popular lma in the series yet!

i think lma 06 will be by far the best ever game in the lma series and i think the lma games will be by far the best manager game and leading the way in football management very soon.
i would never want the crappy staty type of game like cm or fm. the less player stats the better i think |

To be fair, I just think building on what they have is the best idea. If it ain't broke and all that. It works for us, we play, we get addicted, we look forward to the next one, we play and get addicted again and the whole cycle continues. We get all excited about the improvements in the new ones and regardless of what it is now, the only way it can go is up as long as they keep the same basic system.

We like LMA so much because it is quite basic- much different to Championship Manager and Football Manager. Some sections could do with a few alterations and additions, and LMA 2006 looks to have them.
I find that some of the ideas people have on the forum would make it too similar to CM/FM, and take away the basic premise of LMA. It's about finding the right balance, and I think Codies have always had that really.

LMA is a game, and theres nothing in there to prove it otherwise. With CM, sometimes the menu systems are so complicated, I often think I'm hacking my own computer.

i dont think the problem with cm or fm is that its got too much depth as i think the more depth the game has the more opitions u have and the better that is for everyone.
what i think the problem is with those games tho is that they feel just like a game ( confused ? ) what i mean is that it has far too much stats and numbers spilled over from spread sheet to spread sheet which is just fake and the other problem is the layout and hard to use interface. what lma needs is much much more depth and different options to allow u to be as versatile as u like ( in expert mode for example ) or have it as basic as u like in normal mode and buy assigning more staff. but all this needs to be done with a good easy to use interface which will allow everyone to find and do what they want easily. i think it would be best to be able to have the game as basic or as complex as anyone would like it as i get really bored with the same old buy good player, play game, win system. |

What you have to take into account is loading times though as well, if codemasters put too much into the game the loading times would just be ridiclous, just like they are on fm/cm and would take forever to play a game. Plus putting too much into the game would just become confusing and take away the fun side from lma.

I'm happy with the general direction in which the game is heading and the game has come on so much since the first edition depth wise.
I would like to game to be a little more challenging as would alot of people on the forum because i'm sure not everyone wants to be considered just as good as him or him or even him.(whos him?) I dont know of one person who hasn't carried a league club into the Premiership in only a short amount of seasons,or someone who hasn't managed to win everything there is to win. However isn't CM or FM just the same......dont you find that after a couple seasons you build up a strong team and become unbeatable?
