Corny old timer

Wow, Jumpgate reborn. I was lucky enough to be part of the original bunch of gamers in Jumpgate way back when. It's all a little fuzzy (think way to much pot) remembering NetDevil and all the players who had the privledge to play this game before it even went gold. I remember the furballs we had when you could simply log on, with our powerful 56K bandwidth, and just fly and fight. I'm going to forget most of the guys playing back then but I do remember @zmyth, SG, Mr White, Vorg, Tristan, Nova and a frew other guys, so sorry if I left anyone out. There wasnt much to the game then. As I recall the dev team, 3 guys still in school I think, had this site just to mix it up with each other, then, I dont know ,maybe it was @z, who found them and talked them into letting a few more of us join in. I recall Vorg getting ****ed because he had loaded up the biggest cargo ship and was trying to fly it from one gate to another,( no easy feat back then) and a bunch of us in Oct fighters blew his ass out of the sky. Oh man did he yell. Thats when the dev team decided to put in a few rules and boom, Jumpgate really took off.

I remember how cool this game was back then and I still have one of the original T-shirts awarded to the players with the highest score in one of the categories. Mine was for most money earned. Heh, I got it because one of the other guys accounts was erased or something and there I was, a very distant 2nd to that guy, propelled to first place.

Back then there wasnt the Conflux, or much of anything else. You flew to make some cash to buy the best engines, weps, missles, etc.... Then you just went out looking for a target.

I was using Taipan back then when it first started, hopefully some of you remember. I Had so much trouble docking (before the autodock) at the "egg" Quantars home base (the only base for Q back then) that I kept crashing, so I changed my handle to Krash. I've tried to use that one ever since. Right now I'm in AoC as Krash, say hi if you see me.

Anyway, I joined up for the beta, and just like the rest of us, I'm hoping for an invite along the way. Some of you may have the same memories I have ( with a little more accuracy I hope) and I didnt mean to come off as too corny, I just have these really great memories of the game, the time we spent helping out the dev team and especially those furballs.

Hey Krash, thanks to you for getting me involved in Beta5 of JG. It was a literal blast back then and hope it is in JGE. Hope to see the old UZI members and other pilots too, Tictac, Ekostik, Teeleton... and the list is long from here. Hey how about Raiderr, hehe.
