OK so we have a new swish web-site. Why? AFAICS nothing has been added. If there was a smigin of new information (like the entire back-story) then I could understand, but TBH there is even less info here than at the old site if anything.
Another one. All the screen shots seem to feature the Halycon in some way. Is this ship the only player flyable one at this stage? Not particularly relevant, It's just I've been wondering that for a while. Oh and if you already have a beta key do you still need to sign up again? (I did, just to be sure). And is it just me or are the tools for this forum crapola? I can find no buttons to post a link, and image url, bold, italic, smilies etc? OK, I can type this stuff in but why take such a backward step? /me is confused. Smeg |

All those buttons you are talking about are available in the regular reply or advanced reply option, not in quick reply.
Some new info on the site would be nice, some regular additions to the database or lore could warrant more people returning to check the site from time to time.

Maybe this will help with why they changed web sites, if you read the latest news ont he home page of this new site you'll find this:
------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: By creating a more detailed beta application form (which as you know has required everyone to re-sign up) we’ve had to incorporate Codemasters Code M registration system. This is so all beta applicants can be found and contacted more easily, it also allows us to draw the appropriate information we need to conduct a successful beta campaign and to ensure the game is tested to the highest possible quality. By having the requirement of a Code M account for beta it made sense to use the Codemasters forums as a central hub, else we’d be requesting players create multiple log in accounts for something which could effectively be resolved via universal Code M logins. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- so there you have it, thats why the change, maybe beta is closing in now ;-) |

If you're using the "Quick Reply" box you can still use BBCode tags to format your posts... More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bbcode

I would also guess that the website is now under Codemasters control / on Codemasters servers? Rather than Netdevil? Just a guess, but as the publishers, I would have thought Codemasters are keen to create and run the main website for the game.
In fact - if you tracert/ping www.lotro-europe.com, and www.jumpgateevolution.com - they are almost the same IP - so I'd guess servers sitting side by side (or same machine even). So it's a logistical move not just a facelift I'd guess.
