Default Any Other Original Jumpgate Beta Testers?

I remember way back in the day when the original Jumpgate first launched its open Beta. It was the only game I had played that made it worth my while to buy a joystick for and I didn't regret it. Once the game went gold it was also the first MMO I ever subscribed to.
After having played such a wicked game back in the day I'm salavating for JGE to launch.
So, are there any old schoolers out there who'd like to share a story or two about the good old days as we eagerly await the new ones to be ushered in?

Beta 6? I think that was the last phase of beta before release.

Also beta 6 (I believe, right before the HG tags were implemented). Under a different name and had great fun.

I also got into the last beta before it went into stress testing stage around when 3DO was present back then.

I recall Postal and I trying to trigger a server crash at combat. There was even one test where several pilots all flew into one area, took up postion forming a circle, and then everyone let fly weapons/missiles. They could not duplicate the problem on the lan test system, but we could crash it just by killing each other. Turned out to be because one was on broadband and the other was on dialup. The differance in connection speed when one pilot killed the other crashed the server.

And there was a time when you where launched much faster. With a Tow full of rad it was 30-45 minutes of main thrust breaking to get stopped after launch before you could aim for and start heading for the gate.

With the first map which was much smaller, one of the systems had a ghost object that only showed up on radar.

Yep, part of the original beta and one of the charter members of the original release. I also wrote the "Quantar Profit Calculator" third party utility for any of you who remember that.
