Stuck at the first hurdle

I am in desperate need of help....I know it might sound sad but im stuck at the first part of jericho i go along the path and get to the blocked off entrance after getting out of the helicopter.I checked online for walkthroughs it states that abigial uses her power to unblock the entrance after you've loaded your guns but i have loaded my guns and waited for her to do this and she does nothing.I tried the switch character button but it does not work.Please can someone help me on this as ive not even got into some good old fashioned demon slaying yet and i am very fustrated.

Have you tried shooting and realoading? Just one shot is enough.

Ive not been able to shoot after reloading....Do you mean shoot then reload?...Sorry i know it makes me sound like a novice lol

When you come to the blockade your weapon is not loaded and you are offered to do it. After you load your weapon try fireing it once and reload again. That's what I did to advance. I'm not sure if I fired both shotgun and rifle or just rifle but I guess anything will do.

you are not the only one who got stuck there. i've tried half a dozen times to get past this spot and i'm still not past it. it was obvious what needed to be done- smashing the beams. but, my weapon won't shoot. when i tried to shoot either the primary or secondary-nothing. i reloaded and tried to shoot -nothing. reloaded the secondary weapon -still won't shoot. changed firing modes - still won't shoot. tried a melee attack on ther beams out of desparation. couldn't get any team members to do anything but say sarcastic stuff. so i came here to see what i was missing. guess i'll try once more before i give up on it.

Sounds like a bug to me. Just restart the game and it should work this time.

When told to load weapon I loaded primary and secondary then had to set weapon to automatic ( i think the saftey is on ) then fired each and then Abigail cleared the beams.
This was PS3 version. Hope this is of help.

I can't get my crosshairs to appear at that same point. I can't get the weapon to shoot. It will reload but still won't shoot. I can't the key to switch characters to work either. Help!!!
