Default Tried..

Playing Jones as much as possible on hard settings and I'm amazed as how it's soooo much easier to bypass a lot of the swarm points in the game with the Astro Projection ability. Combined with the shotgun weapons function, which is essentially a one/two hit kill if your aiming properly. I think I'll be using this guy a lot more (with Cole still being my favourite of course.). Unfortunately I will be twice as devastated as both now ultimately favourite characters get the short end of the stick during the final boss fight.

EDIT: Now I know why Jones is so suicidal sometimes, this guy has it packing.

I would like further explanation on the usefulness of Jones please, because I don't think I understand how Astral projection helps you in anyway. You don't even take control of the enemy when you project to them. So, how can you combo a shotgun blast with Astral projection?

I think he's suicidal because he's a useless loser.

I found it hard to maneuver in someone else's body quickly enough to do any good. The enemies are constantly charging and by the time you've oriented yourself and are ready to use any attacks, they're already beating the crap out of you. Jones is useless, admit it. The only one close to having powers as useless as Jones is Rawlings. And at least he has cool weapons. That and if you never jump to Rawlings, he's an awesome secondary healer.

So, you guys keep trying to find a use for Jones, but so far his only use is solving mandatory puzzles that require using him. Well, that and acting as a human shield against the exploding cultists. I kept hoping he'd get another power like everyone else, but no...

its not hard to use Jones with some practise

and yeah what you said about Rawlings its true, its better to have 2 healers instead of one, I think I only used Rawlings seriously when I had to kill the summerian boss with the bloodshield

I seem to find Jones crucial in the Black Rose mission. He's usually the only one left alive after the rose explodes peppering you with shrapnel. I assume it's because he was soiling himself in the corner and sucking his thumb waiting for the bad man to go away.

But I do agree that the shotgun is bad ass at close quarters. Try it on the Gladiator mini-boss & watch his back open up. Too bad he usually only has a round or 2 left when I port to him.

As for "avoiding spawning points" I seriously doubt that is even possible. I just did the crypt level before Black Rose, and I just trotted to the exit. I didn't notice that the other 2 had stopped to wait for the ghosts to materialize. Exit was closed, & those 2 got killed, I followed them not long after. just after that when Cole gets her "Q" ability, I must have missed one spirit, because the gate was closed. Spirit finally got off his ass & showed up, died, *Then* the gate opened.

I had huge problems with the Black Rose boss, since he kept killing my entire team like all the time. Then i finally figured it out. I left the entire team at the far back of the "Cathedral " and soloed the boss with Delgado simply by circling around the huge stone sahrcoficus ( don´t know the correct English spelling for that word -lol- ) taking cover behind it every time the boss used his "explosion" ability. Piece of cake.

I agree, those exploding cultists are very annoying..

for that guy, use Cole, go to the stone tomb thing, select single fire mode, and as soon as the dude uses his ability, you stop time or use firestorm, and unload everything at his head as fast as you can, you do that twice and the bad guy is dead. next time I get there im going to try with remote control grenades and see how it works

For those who do not know why Astral is so useful, it allows you to do a ranged pyromance ability or blood ward. The only reason as to how this can fail is if the person trying to utilize this ability has slower reflexes than a turtle.
