Default Clive Barker's Books

Well, my intrest in the game got sparked a while back when I was reading a preview in my favourite gaming magazine, but after going trough the website and watching the videos of the game, I really got in the mood to read some of Mr. Clive Barker's books, but there are so many to choose from that I do not now where even to begin
So which book would you guys recommend for me?

Weaveworld, that's the safest bet. It's an amazing book with a beautiful fantasy world and it's just a great experience. There's everything in it, fantasy, horror, love, action... One of my all time favourites, I've read it at least 2 or 3 times.

The Books of Blood contains lots of his novels, so that could be a good choice as well. I've also enjoyed the Damnation Game a lot, a weird story but a great one. 'The Great and Secret Show' and 'Everville' (the first and second Book of the Art) are very good too, they were the first ones I've read from Barker.

If you've seen Hellraiser, you might want to read the Hellbound Heart as well, it tells a little bit more of the story, the movie was the adaptation from this novel.

Sadly I haven't read anything else from him, yet. I'm planning to get some of his works in Hungarian or in English but they are hard to get. But I can assure the quality of the books mentioned above.

Thanks for the recommendations Necros. Going to read Weaveworld. Also gonna watch Hellraiser.

The game trailers and website got me into checking Clive Barker's work.

Hi Gordon89. I like the Hellraiser series aswell. I don´t care when some people keep saying some later movies are bad. I like them all, and thats that.
You want to be a author? Sweet And hold on to that dream!

I agree, except for the last one, Hellworld, that one was bad (well, if it weren't called Hellraiser, it would've been a good movie but with this name it wasn't worthy of the title). But all the others are really great! Yes, Deader too, I loved it. Kari Wuhrer gave a great performance. Some of the movies are different from the first 2-3 but I think that's good, a little variety never hurts.

Sorry for the OFF.

And in that one i agree with you totally Hellworld is the least favorit of mine. The biggest saving grace it the movie is when Leviathan is mentioned briefly -lol-. The name that inspires fear in a world of flesh.
Deader is very good, and Kari did a great job as Amy Klein.
My personal favorit is divided between part1 and 2, and i can´t choose one over other..
