This is probably a question only Mr. Barker can answer and I am not even sure he visits this forum but here goes.
Is the Firstborn going to be a sympathetic villan in the way Alma in FEAR was? I mean at first she scared the living hell out of you but as the game went on I actually felt sorry for her because I could grasp a sense of just how screwed with she really is due to...well I won't spoil that game for you. Now "Jericho" has a villiain with a major twist...an experiment by God himself that has been locked away just because it didn't meet his expectations. All it wants is out and I am not entirely convinced that it understands the consequences of it's own release. So my question to you Mr. Barker is this; is there going to come a point in the story were I am going to actually feel sorry for what this thing has been through? Right now I am thinking of the Firstborn as being very smart logically but emotionaly dense as hell. What do any of you have to say about this? |

And the twist..*SPOILERS, BUT JUST MY TOUGHTS!!!!* What if we all are children of the Firstborn, and the monster we fight, are truly the "good guys" trying to stop us? They just look horrible and twisted in our own diseased eyes? Who has returned from the dephts of Jericho to tell what the Firstborn looks like? No one. Imagine a climax where we look into a dark mirror in the centre of the abyss, beyond time and space, only to see ourselves inside one person who has our reflection.. I think there won´t be a clear ending, but not a cliffhanger either. It could end in silence as we look the truth in the eyes and say , this is who we are. No, I don't think that will be the truth. It will be something weird/twisted but I've got no idea what. I'm sure we'll all be surprised.
![]() As for the Firstborn, he will be a smart villain, like Clive Barker stated it before. This could mean many things but yeah, I think he might have some sympathetic quality to his/her/it's personality. |

![]() Something Clive Barker and Jericho related ![]() A painting by H.R. Giger called The Trumpets of Jericho. Since Mr. Barker is a fan of Gigers work it would be cool if the Firstborn looked something like this.
