Talking Dedicated server Parms?

Just a real quick thing. I just installed dedicated server and I am trying to tweak it to work best for me. I basically need to know what all the important settings should be set to. I have a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz, 1 Gig of Ram (would virtual memory need to be modified?), and I am using a cable modem going through a linksys router. This is going to be a public dedicated server. I started it up tonight and joined it from the same pc it was running and when there was a lot of action, my view got choppy and laggy. I dont know about everyone elses but mine definitly started to lag. Currently I have the lo bandwidth set to 500, the lo choke set to 120, and the lo fillpercent set to 100. Should these be different and does anything else need to be set?

Also, when the mission is over it takes about 1 minute to restart map. Is there a command to change this?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Also, Is there anything I should do to my pc regularly to keep it clean and lagg free?

For maxplayers: what is your bandwith ??
(Up and Down)
For Fast Loading times: defrag Hdd´s, use a raid controller.

Definatly its not a good idea to run server and play from the sam PC.

Sample:
A 128 up connection would be enough for 4 People, but not more.
(Even if u have 1600 Down)

The publicsi am running at gameservers.net have all 100 MB Connection,
I could set them up to 32 People if supported.
Anyway more then 16 is to much for the igi 2 Maps currently running.

Thanks,

My approx speeds are as follows: 2766 kbps down and 337 kbps up.

Any advise on the parms? ie. lo bandwidth, lo choke, lo fillpercent?

Also is there any tweaks that can be done in the registry of Windows XP to improve bandwidth performance?

Also, dont mean to be a idiot but a Raid controller?

to make your hdd´s faster
long loading times are 99% of slow hdd´s or not enough memory.
quoting myself:
Quote:
in fact for hosting u have a maximum of 256 kbit/sec
what means slooooooooooooooooooooooooooow
so about a maximum of 6-8 players theoretical 10 but not really

bandwidth 400
choke 24
fillpercent 60

set the choke lower when getting lag

This was for 256 kbit so u may set all these values about 25 % higher.
