Default IGI 2 : Crash a lot :(

I'm having major problems with this game in it freezes a LOT!!

The easyest way to get it to crash is start the first level zoom in using the "B" key then move the mouse about and bang get a black screen with a few lines at the top and the sound looping over and over...

If you don't do this and just play the game you might play it ok for 5 mins but then it just locks up solid ...

anyone have any solutions?

I'm running a AMD XP 2100 Geforce 4600 with latest dets also tried the 3xxx range as well and still crashes, also have a soundblaster live 5.1 card in there... any help TIA!

Running Norton Personal Firewall, Timbuktu Pro Winzip, and thats it, but I have quite all those programs before running the game and it still does it... seems to be either a graphical problem or sound driver problem but I am running the latest drivers for both sound and graphics...

I've got absolutely the same problem - the game won't run more then 3 minutes. The easiest way to crash it - to press B (binoculars) and turn mouse wheel. The sound will repeat itself and the screen will be black. I DO NOT have any background processes. My configuration is:

Athlon XP 1500+ & KT 266A
Albatron GF 4 Ti 4200 det. 40.71 or 41.09
SB Live! Value
512 DDR
Windows ME

I haven't got any problems in all latest games (Unreal 2, UT 2003, NOLF2). I liked IGI very much and see if you can solve this problem.
