are you using the newest version/rerelease?
is mss32.dll still in you /igi2/pc directory? (you may have moved this trying to get the first version to work )
try running it from the command line:

i.e.
X:\igi2\pc>tools\igi2ed.exe level100

(you have to run it from the /pc dir NOT from /pc/tools)

The easiest way to get the editor to run is as follows:

1) Get the editor zipfile from the website

2) Unzip it into your "program files/codemasters/IGI 2" directory

3) Using windows explorer, go to the "program files/codemasters/IGI 2/pc" directory

4) Select the "qed" directory and copy it

5) Move up 1 directory ( to /IGI 2 ) and paste the "qed" directory

6) Still in windows explorer, go into the pc/tools directory

7) Right click on the editor.bat file and say Send to=>desktop (create shortcut )

This will put a shortcut on your desktop which runs the editor with all the pathing correct.

click on the bat file and see if that error still comes up.

Also are you using the codemasters version or pan vision version? Shouldn't really matter, but if you're using the codies one remove the scandinavian languages in the language folder.

Also where did you get the download from?
