Lightbulb The Helpers of IGI 2 Day 1

We thank all the masters of code to bring us this game. I think we are all honored to be the beta testers of this phase.

So therefore, lets tell the master all the goodies and the badies, and all our ideas

To start with the piculiar:

The worst thing i noticed, when playing IGI2, was the lagging. I dont know if it is my computer or if it is the netcode, but I tested with 1024.. 800.. and 640
high, low and custom detail. In the close fights there was constant lagging, so it was quite hard to hit another.
The sound of the AK 47 was abit rusty, there was som crackling after the last shot.

Ihave played alot of Soldier of Fortune 2 lately and a bit of counter strike, before that. When I played IGI2, it kind of was a little slow. I know that the thing of this game is the extraordinary maps. And god they are cool! But after playing CS with the later patches and then SOF2, the fun came into the speed. Close combats and fast movement.
The spawning points in IGI2 is a little bit far off, in Timberland anyways.
It would have been good to have some smaller maps with fast combats, just to choose from...

!!And one thing I noticed when playing, and remembering IGI1. The cameras. Are we not supposed to shoot them down? Or is it to hard for the defending team maby....

There must be a console, that one easily could enter in the finished game.

The menu is a little slow

And another important thing! One have to be able to turn off the "#"!#¤ mouse acceleration in win XP !

One thing that really is cool in SOF 2 is the knife. Your special hit with it is to throw it ! Its a silent and very good weapon if you sneak!

I must say that I have had strong expectations for this game, and Im fastidious. This game rocks!!
The most important thing is to get rid of the lag! If we will play it without lag this game is one of the best ever!

Thank YOu Masters!!

Ok - I'm not trying to shoot down your post here, but there are a few things to consider first.

First off - What are your system specs, and what graphics mode are you running in? (If you're running in 32bit, then tune it down to 16bit).

On Close Combat - It is a bit jerky from time to time, but that is, I think, the terrain scaling system getting to work. And yes, some of the player movement is slightly laggy too.

In Multiplayer, you can't shoot the cameras down, but you can take them offline for a while.

Console is in, but it takes some finding to get it up, its not the standard ` key you'd think of (off hand I can't remember, I think its shift + #)

The supposed 'throwing knife' is a big annoyance to me - not only is it unrealistic, but totally stupid (why throw something at 10ft per second when you've got something that can go at 862ft per second?)
Throwing a knife and getting a silent kill is something that only happens in Action movies - if you kill someone with a knife, its usually noisy and ugly (from what I've heard/been told)
As for the throwing knife, there's neither the force, nor the aim to be able to hit someone and kill them with it. Again, only found in action movies.

I hope that helps

My spec's are
----------------------------------
CPU: 1400MHz AMD Athlon
512 MBRam
GeForce 3Ti200
----------------------------------

=) I know that the knife is unrealistic and, I understand your thoughts about it. I too understand you get alot of crasy ideas, I thought it quite fun and it's nice if you dont have any ammo left.

hmmm, this is really odd - what OS do you have?

I have the same specs (apart from a ti500, not a ti200) and have no problems whatsoever running the game.

Very strange.

If you want silent kills, borrow the garote from Hitman 2.
