Default Seafire?

Does anyone know how to unlock this plane without cheating?

Ie: what level you have to do to get it, and on what difficulty?

From memory - if you complete the Wake Island campaign on Ace level (all 3 missions), this unlocks the Seafire.

Well you don't have to play on ACE level the first time through. Progress through the campaign to unlock some better aircraft and then you can go back and play the missions with these aircraft. You'll be surpised at how easy the Wake campaign is with a Bearcat.

I got it by going back to the Missions menu and doing Wake Island on Ace with just a upgraded Corsair. It's much easier than you might think

Me too

[anorak mode on]
And don't let our American friends forget that it took the brits to figure out how to land the Corsair on a carrier. And the P51 Mustang was no good 'til we gave them a RR Merlin engine (as per Spit/Seafire) to put in it!
[/anorak off]

Now maybe you'll feel a bit more comfy with your Corsair

well, being a bigger anorak, it could be argued the mustang was perfectly good for the job it was designed for- a british specification for a low-level recon/dive bomber. hot-rodding it with a merlin to make it into a fighter was just an idea that came along a little later

just correcting myself- it was specified as a fighter originally- the low-level use was due to the original american engine being as useful as a chocalat fireguard up high...
