Default Statement on Patch

The thread that I have just deleted was done so because it contained an error. The developers of Hospital Tycoon have changed name, following a managment buyout, but are still operational.

Apologies to the poster for the mis-information.

There are currently no plans for a patch, I'm afraid. If an issue or bug is discovered in the game that affects a lot of users we will address this and if this needs a patch to resolve the issue then we will create one. There will be no updates that change the current design or features of the game, however.

If you have any constructive suggestions on the design elements of the game, please feel free to email us with these suggestions - simply entitle your email "game suggestions for Hospital Tycoon" and we will pass these on to the developers and game designers for incorporation into any future versions of this game or others in a similar genre - should we decide to publish another game similar to Hospital Tycoon.

I'm assuming your going to inform the customer service staff that emailed me the incorrect information the status of the devlopers.

its very disapointing to hear that codemasters is not releasing any updates, it feels to me like we've been the victims of a cruel joke.

I will never buy a codemasters game again unless hospital tycoon gets the updates it deserves.

Its a shame really. If you are going to do something, do it right. That should be your new credo. A waste i say, a waste.

Atleast we now have confirmation on the situation though.

Does this mean they have no intention of actually increasing patient numbers? Im not taking anymore excuses Operation Flashpoint was a flaw and still is to this day!!!!!

This game is going back to the shop till you decide that you are going to take your demo and make it into a full game, otherwise take your demo and stick it where the sun don't shine!!!

I find it unbelievable that a company like Codemasters would leave their customers this disgrunted and insulted. We we're told (rather late) that there would not be a demo for us to find out what the game was like. This in itself should've told us something was wrong, but you've managed to go even further with misrepresentation of the game with screenshots (wheelchairs and colours that are not available in game). Then there are the "hidden" files found by users for diseases clearly not being used in the game. The empty hospitals that looked full in the screenshots and goodness knows what else.

I for one feel fooled and taken advantage of, you've taken my money for a game that isn't done!

However I have taken your advice and have e-mailed a long list of things I believe are not only missing, but wrong with the game. I hope I will be recieving a reply other than a simple "thank you for showing interest in our game bla bla...", the standard reply to a customer from any customer service department.

Lastly I feel the uncontrolable need to reply to your sentence stating "we will pass these on to the developers and game designers for incorporation into any future versions of this game or others in a similar genre". Quite frankly, if there was a sequel to this game, do you really think anyone is going to be foolish enough to spend their money on something they should've recieved in this version of the game? I find that an insult to our intelligence.

IF there is an issue/bug??? Did you ever bother to read what YOUR customers are saying? Pure lazy.. Wait I bet you must be a programmer, those guys seem lazy enough to ignore their customer base. I'm a game developer myself, creating a tribute to dungeon keeper/theme hospital at the moment, and I just want to say your attempt was laughable and an insult to theme hospital. I know you didn't buy a license or suggest the game is related to it in any way, but its clear it was. If it was a publisher that forced the game out early and without any patch money, well fair enough, but something like that I suppose can't be revealed in public.

I just wanted to speak my disgust at what I was hoping would be an amazing game. I had some small doubts, and even bigger ones about a patch being released (thanks for confirming those!). I won't mention my game or company, as I don't want free publicity (the post isn't about that). But I can assure you that the money people spend on my game will be for a completed one, and one that will have support for (at the VERY least) 6 months. So just one developer to another, doesn't it make you feel dirty releasing a beta? Did you get into the industry to simply scam money off people? Developer's like you are spam, you caused the crash of the video game market once before, I just hope you don't manage to do it again!!

Signed, an unpaid beta tester and recently returned/refunded HT owner.

i feel like s**ting on their disc and posting it back to them.
I find it so disappointing that software companies feel like they can get away with doing things like this.
It happened recently with Atari and Test Drive Unlimited however they had the the decency and more to the point the balls to get on the community forum, admit there were problems and keep us informed as to when we will be getting a patch and what will be included in it.

Mine copy was put on ebay and sold, i do feel guilty for the person that bought it - little do they know what awful service and company they have bought into.

Well done Codemasters you are succesfully turning your customers against you.
