I got a days worth of gameplay out of the main story, which isn't worth the retail price but hopefully the sandbox mode will makeup for what the story lacked.
theres not alot about the game i like, its a step in the right direction but far from complete, this version feels like a beta version - more bugs than content. main my problems with this game are; 1) This isn't a tycoon game, how can a soap opera styled main campaign make you feel like a hospital tycoon? seriously, wheres the logic in that? 2) I felt completley disconnected from the game, there was nothing to engross me, no difficult objectives - theme hospital was packed full of tough objectives compared to this. I miss rats, emergencys and the dreaded vomit wave. I personally rushed through the main missions to try and get to the good bits, but the good bits never came. 3) Its far too easy to make money, most of the time I never looked at how much cash I had, there was allways enough to buy what I wanted 4) Really stupid AI - a patient will be hanging around outside 1 treatment room thats busy instead of going to the treatment room thats free, this is especially annoying when you need to decontamate infected patients and theres a group hanging around outside 1 room instead of going to the other. 5) Rooms with multiple types of machinery - this should be included with 4) because its another AI problems - why does a patient need to change in and out of its clothes when using different machines in the scanning room? 6) Why does everything take so long? being x-rayed 6 or 7 times is a bit excessive and takes the enjoyment out of following a patient around - I ran the game on the fastest speed setting pretty much constantly. This game gets an 4/10 from me. I would of scored it lower if it wasn't for the sandbox mode. Last edited by akridine; 10-06-2007 at 01:26 PM. |

i feel same but hosptial tycoon needs a proper game because this feels like beta - it should not released - if codemaster listens to me - it should deliver completed and bug free version - by patch or expanison to remndy the problem - it really should not rushed out - it was started last year - most games start 2 or 3 years - but some cheap games start 1 to 6 months
edit: - i think if they should add more features which could improve the game - for example bigger hospitals - etc Last edited by rsdworker; 10-06-2007 at 08:43 AM. |

lucky me i downloaded this game in order to test it because i really wouldn't pay for such an awful game.
i agree with most of what you said up until now and i want to add that this game is a great example of games which come out only to get money. because look at overlord/theme hospital: - overlord comes from the same company but it seems the people who worked on HY didn't wasted so much time on it like the people who worked on overlord. - TH came out before many years by the company named bullfrog which was taken to EA and died during the years...i must say that this old game win against HY in almost everything except High graphics but even in HY the graphics aren't so high. this game is a waste of 740MB space in someone computer. if only they worked on it some more (like 2-3 more years) and made a game that can challenge TH...it was way better. |

Only tested it for a bit, but I must say that I miss much of the control you had in old TH. I mean like setting the amount of patients in a queue to a certain room and a lot of statistics are gone. The game overall is pretty decent but it could have been so much more.
...and where did multiplayer go? Even TH had that back in the day. |

Got to agree with pretty much everything that's been said here, I bought the game on Friday and had finished it by Sunday afternoon. The scenarios were pretty much just 'keep playing long enough and you'll meet the win criteria'.
The soap opera idea was a nice touch but it just didn't actually go anywhere, I know that that it how most soap operas are but still... I also hated the fact that at the start of every episode you start with a new hospital and all of your staff have lost any training or relationships that they built up during the previous level. I can only think that they designed it so that you couldn't just play one episode for a long time and build up a huge amount of money and have all your staff at 100% skill then complete the next episode in under a minute. |

I love Theme Hopsitel. Hospital tycoon is very bad and I disappointed . I hope Codemaster bringing a patch or update for the game. In the german version the are 7 or more Diseases disappeared !!!! it's realy bad =/ The grafik from Hospital Tycoon and the fun from theme hospital = perfect game Last edited by charmageddon; 11-06-2007 at 08:39 PM. |
