Default Drifting with Logitech G25

Hello to all,

i just love the drift sessions on GRID... lots of fun! But i'm having some problems with the settings of the Logitech G25 and GRID.

What settings are u using on your G25 and GRID for drifting? Are those settings used when you race with different cars, like GT's ... or just Pro-Tuned?

I'm using a 400º turning angle ... all the rest is default.
In Grid, i set the "Force Feedback weight" to 0, Linearity to 5 and if i remeber, the steering saturation to 90% ...

but.. those settings are not "the ones that i feel confident with" ... they are more the settings of "Pedro trying to understand what does what" ( i'm Pedro ) eheheh

450 degrees rotation. FFB 100% on everything, 25% centering spring.

Thanks Lancia!

All this because... i used to play with a Xbox controller until i got the G25 ... and i'm feeling so much difficulty adapting ...

2 More questions:

How do you save your in game movies ? I would like to do that with replays...

Secondly, i would love to start playing with other people... drifting ... i'm not a 8.000.000 points player but, i can keep up until the 5.800.000 ...
at least with the controller eheheh let's see with the wheel....

I only got the game 2 months ago ... and work doesn't let me play as much as i eager ...

GRID drifting is the nicest drifting I've ever felt in a game. I, and a few others on here, drift in real life so the skill set required is easy to transfer. Newer players turn away from drifting because of this additional set of skills. This other video I made might help you out some. It's a basic overview of drifting techniques: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uwiqzAf3w8

Lancia, nice to read that! I always loved drifting ... in fact, in real life i belong to a portuguese clube, the "Sideways Addiction" club that's all about drift.

I Drive a Mercedes 190 2.5 16v ...

Although i know something about drift, i think i have more difficulty adapting to this wheel because i was playing with the gamepad and everything was done in a different way eheheh

But, i'm no pro at drift ... just someone that really enjoys it ...

Good to see your'e still Lurking about the forums Lego.
Everything takes time when going from control to control.
I'm currently using a game pad and yes it took me a bit of time to get to the same skill level I have or had on keyboard.

i finally made a 5.5000.000 run with the wheel ...

not perfect, far from that ... but finally, finding some technique.

Do you guys play online or something?

Btw, Applique, did u ever tried with a driving wheel? On the gamepad, you have quicker reactions and all that... and with the Xbox controller everything was so smooth ehehhe

oh... after a 10 lap run... i'm sweating ... lol

Don't know about Lego still playing, probably still kick my arse as he taught me how to drift and get very decent scores.

Yeah when I first started to play GRID Lego was one of the first drifters I came across who blew away the opposition and at the time I thought I was pretty good.
So instead of accusing him of cheating and leaving the session as most would I asked him how it was done and drifted with him when I could.
Of course now I get kick from drift sessions or left in the lobby by myself.

No I never used a wheel.
I just don't like the clutter.
I'm using a Logitech PS2 type controller atm and just using the analog sticks with R1 as E-Brake and L2/R2 as gear change.

With manual transsmission and controller I have found certain drift cars easier to control.

e.g.
I could not use the RX7 at all due to the gear ratio as it would just rev it's nuts off red lining in second.

But I still usually use the Subaru or GTO unless I join freestyle where i use the SRT-4.

Yeah, I'm still around sometimes. Most of the time is spent either working, dealing with things around the house or some COD4 for the simple reason that if something comes up, which is common nowadays, I can just exit instead of being a jerk and leaving during a race.

Skills have diminished a little but I still got it. Kind of.
