Default DRIFT Tutorial

Hello,
I got the game since the end of May and I dont understand how to drift in game, the cars do not move normaly compare to other racing cars in game, they just understeer or oversteer, Codmasters should have put a tutorial to explain how it works because for me and many people who bough the game drift mode is useless.
I read this forum and other things but no one explain how to dift clearly.
I will appreciate if someone could explain properly how to drift in GRID with exemples ect.

thank you all in advance.

ok, first of all, you don't want to be going full speed into the corners, 2nd or 3rd gear is best, second, you want to tap your E-Break, when you are entering the corner, and turn into it. This should shift weight to the front of your car, and fling your back end out. Now you need to counter steer. If it is a left turn, you need to E-Break, turn left, back end out, and then turn your tires the opposite direction, so you are still going around the corner, then give it gas, not too much gas, or you will spin out, and not too little or you will stop drifting. If you find yourself straighting out, tap the E-Break again, you should fling out again. Hope this helps.

Where does the handbrake fit in, and is it necessary to use it to drift properly?

Ok 1st of all if u just started to play u will need many restarts and practize, skillz doesn't come by nothing. Now about drift, I allways turn off all helps so it help to keep combo going. When its about 20-15 meters to corner hit handbrake and turn to corner side, hit wheel to other direction of corner, dont hold gas all the time just keep taping on it and for longer slide hold handbrake so u won't crash a wall b4 the corner. hope it helped a little, i will make a video tutorial how to drift soon so it wont be that confusing than this . Remember u won't be good at drift if u won't practice.

Reread the second post and where it uses the American term E-brake substitute handbrake and all should become clear.

WOW ! E-Brakes ?! What's that ? People in america brakes with an "E", not with the hand ? lol Is it an Electronic brake or something ? Just kidding, first time I see this word. E-Brake. Really funny.

OK, you can also watch this video (better quality here) and see the feeling an anticipation you need for simple drifts. The video shows the basic moves you can do for begining, on the Yokohama Docks A1 of the demo.
It's just me driving in external view for you to see the moves.
That's pretty hard at the begining, but once you get the move, it will be easy. You need lot of practice of course.

Good luck ! ^^

lol, well E-Break stands for Emergency Break, so I just substituted it for an abbreviation.

Always giving the "American's" a hard time... I could go really deep into this, saying that there are 3 "Americas" (North, Central, and South) and we just claim the name for ourselves since United Stateseans would be a little weird, but now I'm just kind of pointing out the flaws in my own culture

thank you for your replies, I will probably try later, I have been busy with work.
One thing I dont understand is why I can drift in Touge with normal cars but unable to do it with drift cars, I wish codemaster did put a normal version of the dift cars.
