Hi guys .. recently paid and downloaded GRID via Metaboli and am suffering with crashes to desktop on numerous occasions which is frustrating after winning a race .. grrrrr
Not played a decent driving game since Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 4 and was looking forward to playing GRID after reading the reviews and watching quite a few YouTube videos, but with the number of crashes I've had, I'm very disappointed so far. I understand there is to be a new 1.3 patch out soon and wonder if Codemasters are aware of how many folks are suffering with this particular problem !? Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions on how I may resolve my problem, I'd be very grateful. System Spec :- Intel QuadCore 2 Q9300, 2500MHz 4GIG DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM @400MHZ NVIDEA GeForce 9600 GT 512MB Seagate SATA-II, 500 GIG, 7200 RPM |

GRID has a history of crashing for many PC players. But let's see if we can figure out what's causing your crashes. Do you have 1.2 patch installed? What operating system do you have? Does it crash on all races or does it only crash on specific races? Give me a little more detail about your problem and I'll try to help.

Problem appears to have been solved. I un-installed and re-installed and now it seems to be running fine on Vista ultimate 32 bit.
First installation didn't seem that good as soon as I started the game I had to change the screen resolution from 1680X1050 to a lower setting because of the graphic stutter when the race started, but now it runs smooth and well on the default graphic setting. Game is so darn good I've just ordered my first ever steering wheel for gameplaying, a Logitech G25 is on its way. Thanks for the assist offer KINGz-of-GAMING CLAN, but all is good at the moment. |

Is the default graphic setting using a resolution lower than 1680X1050?

I installed my old Grand Prix 4 game to test the wheel after having so many problems in setting up in GRID and the G25 works with FF in Grand Prix game and 'feels' like driving a car .. using the G25 on GRID and the driving sensation is terrible .. there is no feedback or sense of driving at all. |

Did you install the v1.2 patch for GRID? That should fix the FF problem?

Ok, look like you should have v1.2. But to check for sure, look here for this file, hardware_settings_config.xml:
XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\My Documents\Codemasters\GRID\hardwaresettings\hardwa re_settings_config.xml Vista: C:\Users\****\Documents\Codemasters\GRID\hardwares ettings\hardware_settings_config.xml Open file in notepad and at top of file you see: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> - <hardware_settings_config version="39"> You got v1.2. Stock Grid v1.0 will say "38". When you say no force feedback, is wheel totally loose in your hands when racing GRID or do you feel a little FF? GRID default to only 50% for the FF settings. For me these are on the weak side. I use these and a 100% in Windows Controller settings:
