Are you using SLI mode or are you switching to single video card ( single GPU in your case ) mode before starting GRID. GRID don't like SLI mode. Some have gotten SLI to work and a lot people have not gotten SLI mode to work.

Damn I'm going have to Boycott buying DIRT 2 now until GFWL issue get resolve in a fair manner for players that bought DIRT 2. Don't feel right buying DIRT 2 if others are getting screwed out of their hard earn dollars. GFWL stole my game Please Codemasters and Microsoft fix this injustice to online racing! Let the WHOLE world race online like we do with GRID and Flatout 2!! Will F1 use GFWL? |

Yes i am using SLI, i disabled it and tried to run it again but no dice.
a funny thing earlier i tried was downloading the new nvidia patch when i ran the game it finally worked, i went into the options and changed my graphics settings, but as soon as i changed them the problem came right back and locked up at the loading screen again |

I just bought Grid at fry's today and figured I should be able to simply insert the disc and play. SAME EXACT PROBLEM. I made a profile and it starts to load but sits at 0% while playing music. Computer: VISTA ULTIMATE 64-bit (I havn't found any info about this game being compatible with 64-bit yet) i7 920 quad EVGA X58 9800GTX+ 6GB DDR3 2x 1TB Samsung HDD's in Raid0 (optical drives and PSU should not be relevant) |

Following up from previous post:
1. updated to 1.1. Tried running the game, same stuck at loading screen. 2. updated to 1.2. same as above. 3. uninstalled nvidia drivers. reinstalled updated nvidia drivers. Same as above. I can't even do anything in this stupid game. I click to open it (i've tried running as admin as well), the first initial movie rolls by, the main screen opens with "PRESS ENTER TO START", I press enter, and it immediately goes to LOADING screen showing scores endlessly. It's really annoying. There is no reason why I should have to buy a game and go through hours of work just to play it. |

Update:
I followed some directions about running the game on only two cores instead of four by changing some stuff in notepad files. That seemed to fix the problem. The game loaded up and I immediately went to try to adjust the graphics settings as I have a high end system and wanted max graphics at 1920x1200. After changing resolution from 1920x1080 to 1920x1200 and increasing the AA I now have a crazy new problem: After the first intro video the first screen that comes up where you "press enter to start" won't load correctly. It makes my monitor flash on and off and the music skips. At this point i have to Ctrl+alt-del to end task. I can play the game in Windows 98 compatability mode but the graphics suck. |
