Well, This is one of my favorite games but I just can't play it. On XP Pro x64 the game has tons of issues with patch 1 and 2. When I try to do a drift battle the game crashes if I try to launch a race at yokohama docks the game crashes. That is using patch 2 on patch 1 I can launch into the race but if I use the in car view the fps tank to below 30 mind you I stick 60 the vast majority of the time. If I leave the in car view the fps go back to 60 but the games still seems laggy.
Please help!

@ PT:
Crashes when starting Drift typically results from using a "No DVD" crack - delete that if you've got it. I don't have XP64 so the following are just my random ideas: - Check at Microsoft.com for latest DirectX updates (I recently got the Aug2008 update), that might help. - You list 2 x 8800GTS vidcards. If you've got them in SLI mode, try instead using just a single card. And/or get latest nVidia graphics drivers for XP64Pro. - Install all Service Pack(s) for XP64Pro. - Update audio drivers. There are lots of GRiD Tech Support topics, spend some time searching/ reading them, you'll probably find a solution and can then enjoy Grid to the max.

I have all of the latest Directx updates and also have the latest drivers those being 178.15. I have to use a no-dvd crack because if I don't the game won't launch. I have confirmed this on XP pro x64 and vista x64 both clean installs several times. I finish a clean install, and load up grid go to launch the game after the patches and the game won't launch. The only way to launch the game is to use the crack.

Have you tried setting the the resolution to 1024x768 ( no SLI mode ), no AA and graphic settings set to low and then close game and restart GRID with v1.2 stock GRID.exe to see if game will start with low settings? And if game still won't start, try disabling the sound drivers in Device Manager to see if it a sound problem.

Don't feel right buying DIRT 2 if others are getting screwed out of their hard earn dollars. GFWL stole my game Please Codemasters and Microsoft fix this injustice to online racing! Let the WHOLE world race online like we do with GRID and Flatout 2!! Will F1 use GFWL? |
