demo worked fine, full version has black screen

Hi all,

as many, I downloaded the demo of grid to see if my laptop could handle the game. The demo worked fine after some tweaking with resolutions and detail.

Today I bought the full version, installs fine.
I start the game, into has no problems and the it starts:
- the interface is gone, all black
- when I press enter after some searching, on the lower part of the screen, the text apprears (like name, save...) but all the rest is still black
- after some trial and error I can start a race, and the only thing I see is the car interface (speedometer, position, other players,...) but again, the rest is black, nothing to see, like there is a black curtain over the car.

here are the hardware/software specs:
- vista business
- 2 Gb RAM
- ATI mobility radeon HD2600 Directx 10 compatible, latest drivers

strange that the demo still works, but the full does not (not both installed at the same time)

hey, your not the only on olivier, i got exactly the same problems and same specs as you have (you have notebook hp compaq 8510 p ?) can somebody please help us, i'm desperate to play, but i cant find any solution yet...

not having a dig but.............why do people expect uptodate games to run on crappy note books ?????????i mean they are not supposed to be used for gameing,,if you want a gameing laptop then go buy one.

demo worked fine in good resolution with great effects. Then why does the full not work, people play the demo to see if their machine can handle it, so if they buy it, they can be sure all works !
My laptop isn't that crappy, no need to spend another 500$ extra for a killer laptop.

Look at the sticky "BSOD" at the last page there is a fix for x86 and 64 vista that might help you with black screen. It help me with my black screen hope it helps you too.

Was havin the same problem but think ive found a solution. Start the game in safe mode by right clickin on the shortcut then chnge the reolution to a lower setting in options. Worked for me anyways

sorry, we do not support laptops (as mentioned in the agreement on setup, like I will read the whole thing), try the next update.

not a great support, I think...
I meet all the specs, so what's the problem???

feel sorry for you man! I had lots of problems with the ps3 demo too! Hope CM gets their head back to place!
