I've had the problem (like a few other people round here) that no matter what options I set, the game always restored the default graphics settings. Deleting the hardware config file etc didn't work so...
The solution? Nothing clever. I just uninstalled the game (and backed up my saves), and then deleted the Codemasters folder from My Documents. I reinstalled the game, patched it straight away, and then loaded the game. The settings now save perfectly (well, for some reason the monitor freq setting didn't save the first time round, but next time it did). BTW, I copied my saves back into the correct location after verifying the settings were saved (not that it should make any difference). Anyway if you do reinstall, remember to safely store your saves first! |

Yes a re-install is always a good thing to try if experiencing issues with software, hell even the O/S right????? I got lucky and so did a few others here,we had no need for such measures.I think most PC game manufacturers are assuming a certain amount of troubleshooting to be done on the users end nowadays.I can deal with that especially with all the crap and comments the Devs have to deal with, mostly pertaining to how their system should run it full out at 100fps,the mip-maps this and bloom that were all hosed in 1.1 and worked in the demo,I want my allowance money back BS.Dont tempt these guys to goto the Dark side, they are trying to make this work for 8000 possible different hardware configurations here(not to mention get past all the **** software people inadvertantly install these days)Learn at all chances, learn to troubleshoot stuff,it will become your friend.

Believe me, I tried everything I could think of, and a couple of things that other people on the forum mentioned as well, but to no avail.
I know the nightmare of hardware configurations from first hand experience, which is why you'll never see me bitch and whine about the devs; point out problems - yes, but not become a whinging git about it (at least hopefully I don't!)

I had the same issue.. turns out it was because i was using teh 1.0 no-cd crack with the patched 1.1 game. Using the disc with original 1.1 .exe worked just fine but i happened upon a 1.1 no-cd crack, so all is well.
