Skins wanted for new 'Skin packs'

Through out the year, we are looking to create a few 'Skin packs' for fans to download. If you have skins that would like to be included in these packs, please drop either myself of RFT a PM and we will get in touch with the steps to take to have you skin included.

Good idea. I just have one question awaiting an answer. "How do you use a custom skin in GRID world?".

Excellent idea, any chance we can come to terms with uploaders of skins on gridjoint just specifying in the top of download description say " permission granted for codies DLC".Or we could set up a new upload/download area called skins for codies DLCS.So if you codies are browsing the skins you can download/test and include if you like the skin? Also skins your really not fond of you would not need to reply at all to anyone. Just browse and pick. Would save time for both sides and be hassle free. Of course you still would need to deal with non grid joint users as originally specified.

We were discussing this and this is something that has always been on the radar. With such a cool site like Grid-Joint, we thought it would be great to support this.

By releasing 'Official Community Skin Packs' should hopefully allow players to see their custom skins online when racing. However, we really need an install guide and a 'how to create a skin' guide asap so more people can enjoy new skins.

Finally it took people time but somebody has realised that a guide to make skins would help many people!

What sort of thing would CM be including in the skin packs?

Its kinda hard to do up a install guide when we have no clue what your plans are for custom skins, are you going to make it so we have brand new livery folders per car to drop skins into for example grid\cars\gtr\livery_custom00\textures_high\gtr_te x_high_custom00.pssg
or are you going to have custom skins replace default skins.

Will the packs be an .exe type where you just hit install button (no guide required I hope lol)

Will the packs have a user interface where you have skin list , then just check the checkbox of which skins to install (clicking on skin name would pop up pic to see if wanted or not)

Currently the custom skins pssg tells you where it goes by looking at name:
sup_tex_high_00.pssg,, well obviously the skin isgoing in the cars folder so: cars\sup\livery_00\textures_high\ is where the pssg goes.

The breakdown of sup_tex_high_00.pssg:
sup=cars\sup folder
00=livery 00 folder
tex_high=textures_high folder

we need to be able to make our own folders or team folders so that we can all see each others. we cannot work this if we have to over right any of the main ones in game. we need to be able to create folders for our skins

There's still questions up in the air about this custom skin pack.
Vaild, and easy yes/no questions have been made in this thread and no answers have been recieved, causing creators to be less inclined to PMing about thier skin being put into this skin pack.
