A CO representative has posted in this thread 01/03 - GRID Reloaded and Prestige Pack Details

Further information regarding GRID Reloaded and the Prestige pack now on MCV. We'll be putting out our official release regarding the pack towards the end of the week.

Codemasters is to become the latest publisher to reward those who buy their games brand new with digital content not available to pre-owned buyers.

This will begin with Race Driver: GRID Reloaded, due for release on Thursday, March 11th for PS3.

The new SKU will include a copy of the original game plus codes to download the two DLC packs: 8-Ball and Prestige.

The PS3 edition is due to retail at £24.99, with a 360 version to follow at a later date comprising of the original game plus a code to download the 8-ball DLC pack..

The 8-Ball pack is already available to download over PSN and Xbox Live and includes two new multiplayer events and eight new cars.

The Prestige Pack is new, and will also be made available through PSN on March 11th for £7.99. The DLC includes the Australian Bathurst circuit and ten new cars:

Ferrari F430
Bugatti Veyron
Ferrari F550 Maranello
Mercedes McLaren SLR 722
Lotus 2-Eleven
Lamborghini Gallardo GT
Mazda Furai
Jaguar XKR GT3
Honda Integra Type-R (DC5)
Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4

The Brit-based publisher has announced that two compilation packs will also launch on Thursday, March 11th. The first set is priced at £29.99 for Xbox 360 and includes the original Colin McCrae: Dirt and Race Driver: GRID.

The second set is a triple compilation pack for PC, and features GRID, Dirt, and last year’s release, Fuel. The PC bundle is priced at £19.99.

“GRID won multiple awards at launch and since its May 2008 launch has remained a defining racing game,” said Codemasters brand manager Edward Newby-Robson.

“We’re delighted to add extra value and introduce brand new content on its Platinum release that reinvigorates the title and adds new cars and a new track to the game for the first time.”

Would love to know if there is going to be anything for the PC. Especially since we didn't even get the first DLC

But does this compilation include the extra content or is it just the original games in a bundle pack?

And are us pc players gonna be left out in the cold again? (i hope not).

Thumbs down

If no PC version will come, only one thing's left to say:

way to go for heading the same way as the rest by releasing all nice stuff on console only.

Or are you heading the way of Atari and R* by not anouncing anything for another 8 months, and thén announce it?

Aw ! C'mon, Helios . . .you can't dangle new tracks and cars in this forum without saying there is something for us PC owners.

There is a revival happening amongst the long term players . .we will pay for the pack . . .but it's pointless dangling a Dirt, Fuel, Grid pack . . .we already have Dirt and Grid and no-one is interested in Fuel.

You give/sell us these goodies and online will be thriving again . . .you will then have a whole new audience clamouring to buy your packs, simples

First up, thanks very much for the announcement Helios. It's good to finally be getting some feedback from CM through their representatives here, and it is very much appreciated.

If I may, though, I wonder if I could request some clarification.

This quote above suggests that people who buy the reloaded game will get content that other players who already own the game will not have. However this quote:

...seems to contradict that. May I ask which is the case? Will the prestige pack be available to all, with full content to everyone who buys it regardless of the context which they buy it in, or will there be elements that I, as someone who already has the game, will not get?

If you could provide some assistance in this matter I'd be very greatful. Thank you.

Last chance CM. I've been a loyal fan for many years, but GRID's lack of support for PC/Xbox was strike 1, and the absolute joke of a game called F1 2011 was strike 2. I'll give DIRT Showdown a chance, but if that is as much of a fiasco as the others, then I'm out...permanently.

Yeah the language is somewhat confusing. As was mentioned above, most of us spent a lot of money on both Dirt AND Grid when they were released. I would like to see Codies reward the pc users who actually paid full retail for both games by providing us with the content packs that have already been issued to the console guys.
So I don't come across as totally negative, I'd like to say thank u to Codies for getting the patch out for Dirt2. can't wait to play it tonight.
