Sad to hear all this before I got a chance to race with you guys. From whats been posted you guys seem like an awsome bunch.
If a new host is needed, then what do you need to be able to host a GRID or similar online gaming server? I haven't ordered m PC yet, so changes could be made if necessary. Again, real shame to hear that theirs being a lack of attendence which has forced you guys to close it down. GRID is definitly one of my all time favourite games, it was fun even if your using a keyboard. At the latest, I'll be ordering my PC on the 30th. Hope to cya all on either a Tarmac or Dirt track. Anyone can act as host for a Private Session on CM's GRID online. Problem is notifying all the clean racers that there is an event scheduled. Sending out Private Messages to each and every former member is time consuming. Posting on the CM forum would probably not get any better attendance than when a race was posted on PRIVATE SESSIONS.

If everyone who is a clean racer (everyone apart of this group) could give their e-mail address, then it would be easier. I could also post a YouTube vid saying a race is happening (maybe even use footage from last race
)One thing I'll say though is that, I have never hosted anything in my life, so I'll be learning from day one when I start playing GRID again, if anyone has tips on being a host (kicking, voting, making sure the room is lag free etc) then let me know. I love GRID, I really do, and I can't see why it should just fade away before its successor GRID 2 gets here. PhoenixWylde. |

It's very much like Ghost's private server group with extras, if you decide to join us you will find the full list on the OP which I keep up-to-date for new joiners to know who to send requests to. We also run a Time Trial competition, nothing heavy, just a bit of fun where we have a leaderboard only showing the top 5 so competition is to get in as many as possible . .and stay there. It's a good way to learn the tracks and have some fun at the same time, needless to say Gooner and Flowa have their usual dedication not just to be on the top but also to amass WR.

Good idea Eras. And Frank I'm always happy to be of service. Still would like to keep GRID as a parallel racing game though (you know, asphalt versus dirt). Both are fun disciplines. I like your idea too, PhoenixWylde. I'll send you my email address, dont be intimidated by hosting, its not that difficult. The other option is to come over and join TeamBEER.

Good to hear you'll still race on GRID maddawg. I too when I get my new PC will be playing on Dirt2 and GRID, having a mix of racing games is no bad thing.
I may join Team Beer if I see more of their races, and actually race against them (saying that I never raced u guys and you all seem great), but I can't find on their website where they post events that are up and comming so that when I get my new PC, I'll be able to jump on one of their servers and have a good race with them. I hope that more of the people in this group voice their opinions and hopefully pass on their e-mails so that getting a session organised with good turn-out isn't too hard. |

Hello PW. When you come to the portal page just click on the word "calender" on the upper right hand side. Will list everything for the month. Also you can change your name in the chatbox to what you use here. By any chance do you have a headset and mic? We use TS3 to communicate a lot. Just a heads up sir. Your welcome to come over anytime. Frank

I know I'm not the fastest racer, but I sometimes get it right Also, I don't know how often I will appear as I have other hobbies and commitments. I will try though.Cheers, Bean
