Exclamation PS3 Online Error Message

PLEASE ONLY REPLY IF YOU HAVE EXACTLY THE SAME ONLINE PROBLEM AND ERROR MESSAGES. I HAVE CREATED A NEW THREAD AS THE OTHER ONE BECAME A GENERAL ONLINE THREAD EVEN IF THE USER HAS PLAYED ONLINE. NOTE: I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO PLAY THIS GAME ONLINE.

I receive the following error messages when selecting any of the online options:

A network error has occured.
You have been disconnected from the server.

This error only affects my master user account, my other sub account can play online fine. If I were banned from the servers both my PSN ID's would have been banned as the sub would have been automaticlly banned.

This is not a firewall issue or any other network problem in my control. This is because my other account can go online fine with no error messages or problems and I have also placed my PS3 in a DMZ.

This is not a specific PS3 console problem. I have 2 PS3's with the same error message and online problem on both consoles with the same PSN ID. My other PSN ID works fine.

This is clearly a PSN ID problem. I believe this error message is caused by GameSpy. Reason:

Any game which is 'Powered By GameSpy' causes problems for me. Ususaly I can live with these as they never cause major issues.

Other Games:

SARPBC (PSN Game): I appear offline on the in game friends list with all my friends. They can not send me game invites or join my game. My friends appear online and I can send them a game invite however they never receive any of the game invites.

MC:LA: The goal attack leaderboards show all my times as 'N/A' and my position on the leaderboard as 'N/A'.

The only thing these games have in common is they are all in some way 'Powered By GameSpy'.

I have called Sony and they say my PSN ID looks fine from their servers after a quick check. I am still waiting for a call from them once they have fully checked. There is clearly a problem and I'm guessing this is somewhere in GameSpy's servers.

The problem I am finding is no one will take responisibilty for this problem. The game is not published by Sony so they can only check my PSN ID for any problems. Codemasters are the only ones who have access to their own servers and they are the ones who can check GameSpy's servers for errors.

Codemasters: Please check my PSN ID with GameSpy for any problems. My PSN ID is the same as my user name on the forum. I can provide a time and date of a failed connection with an IP address if this would help.

Thanks

I believe all (or most) of us get the first two error messages and we just wait for it to connect us again, but off course the connection is very unstable when in regular free roam. I find that accepting an invite (and being in the same area of course) definitely helps and I usually don't have much problem with that, however, if I don't use an invite, usually the only way I am able to find other people is after a race and sitting in that spot in free roam and hope that the others haven't left yet. There was one person who I was roaming with (after a race) and we got disconnected from each other and we had to wait several minutes to connect to each other again even though it said I was online.

As for MC:LA, most of the time I get disconnected within 10 seconds of joining a game and rarely I get lucky and am able to stay connected for a while.

Gamespy sucks.

Thanks for your reply. I cannot even display a server list of any of the races. I cannot join any game invites even if we are on the same place on the map. This all works fine on my other PSN ID. Sure, I've been disconnected a couple of times on my other account. However, At least I've actually managed to connect to a game.

I've never had a problem with the Midnight Club: LA onliine free roam or race servers. I've never been disconnected or anything - It's just the leaderboards.

I've also had this game since release so I've been trying to play online for over a month. I've completed the career with all the stars and I'd just like to play online on this PSN ID.

Well if the problem has something to do with a PSN ID or a master account I really hope they fix it. I am using my account which is the master account on my PS3 and I at least can connect to most of the other races... the thing is usually only 2 or 3 lobbies show up when I search for one and sometimes I can't even connect to those. Something really needs to be fixed.
