Default Saturday, Aug 29, we are putting together a "road" trip run.

Ok we ( FOJPurple44, FOJShadow and Bimjeam ) have decide to do one more free roam run for the PC version of FUEL. Saturday. Aug 29 ( not this Sat., next Sat. ). We will start off with hosting some custom tracks at 11:00am pacific time and then 1 hour later at 12 noon pacific, 3:00pm eastern, 8:00pm London and 19:00 GMT time, we will start the run. Run will last about 2 1/2 hours.

This will be a "road" trip run. I have map out a route that just uses asphalt and dirt roads. No going off road to shortcut the route, need to stick to the roads for this run.

I would like all players that join this run to stick to using a buggy or a car or a SUV. No bikes, quads or trucks like the monster trucks.

My brother going to be doing most of the driving while I navigate for him. Tell him when to go right or left. This way as leader of the "pack" we won't have to stop to check the map all the time and hopefully the navigator ( me ) won't get us lost.

We had a good turnout of 20 players for last Saturdays run, I hope to see a bigger turnout for this next run. But I think we will need another group of guys that are friends and would like to lead another group of players and have someone that can navigate for them.

With 2 group Leaders, we should be able to have 2, 16 players group online. We saw in our last run a big group of players get split into 3 groups by the time they got to the next heliport. And some had to go offline and then back online to rejoin the main group. We may have to do this again on this run.

I took a pic of the start area and would like us to start this "road" trip run with two different groups. One group at the start sign and one group meet up further up the road before the start sign. Hopefully the game will split us into 2 separate groups.

Thanks to Shadow making some zone maps that show all the roads, I was able to map out a route that stick to asphalt and dirt roads. I have posted links to the 4 zone maps we will travel through below. I mark the asphalt roads we will use with yellow and mark the dirt roads with red. If open these 4 maps with Firefox, you can click magifing glass to zoom into the map some. To zoom in even more, hold Ctrl key down and then push the " + " key and Firefox will zoom in more.

Part 1 - Redrock Bluffs zone

Part 2 - Firemoor Fields zone

Part 3 - Dead Ladys lake zone

Part 4 - Blacktrail Pass zone

Here the list of Challenge markers and one Career marker we will travel through.

Start - Redrock Bluffs - Challenge - 01 Speed run
1. - Redrock Bluffs - Challenge - 05 Blitz
2. - Redrock Bluffs - Challenge - 09 Checkpoint ( 5 minute break )
3. - Firemoor Fields - Challenge - 02 Chopper Chase ( 5 minute break )
4. - Dead Ladys lake - Career - 01 Highway to the Lake
5. - Dead Ladys lake - Challenge - 09 Checkpoint ( 5 minute break )
6. - Blacktrail Pass - Challenge - 04 RAID ( 5 minute break )
7. - Blacktrail Pass - Challenge - 01 Speed Run
Finish - Blacktrail Pass base camp

If you miss the start of this "road" trip, meet us at one of the markers. To get to a Challenge ( or Career ) marker, start the Challenge race you want to go to, after race start, hit Esc key and then select " go offline free ride ". This will put you at the Challenge marker offline. Now go to menu and go Play Online> Online Free Ride. Now pick a buggy or a car or a SUV you want to use. I'm going with the Zero G buggy. It good on asphalt and dirt roads.

If you got questions or comments, be sure to post them.

Don't feel right buying DIRT 2 if others are getting screwed out of their hard earn dollars.
GFWL stole my game

Please Codemasters and Microsoft fix this injustice to online racing! Let the WHOLE world race online like we do with GRID and Flatout 2!! Will F1 use GFWL?

That what I use to first mark the route when I was scouting it. Yesterday I went back and trace route with a paintbrush and paint bucket in Photoshop.

2 1/2 hrs ? Looks like I'll be able to stay the whole time
At 19:00 GMT you will be hosting custom tracks or starting the run ?
And btw, are we going to take breaks at the markers ?

At 19:00 GMT, we will be start the "road" trip run, at 18:00 GMT we will host some custom races before the start of "road" trip run.

Since this is a shorter run I will mark four spots for a 5 minute break. At the other markers we may stop if our group is getting stretched out and we need to regroup.

Hmmm, no group of players wants to step forward and lead a second group of players?

With the 16 player limit and also with FUEL liking to split the group into smaller groups, I'm not going to be able to lead and navigate for everybody. We really need to have a second leader and navigator.

I have been working on a couple of new custom tracks, but only one turnout to be good enough too use for Saturday. Here link to youtube video:
