Jumpgate Community

We've been hard at work the past few days to completely ditch the old Jumpgate Community site and move it over to something more manageable. Rather than hand-coding everything, to make publishing news articles and other bits and pieces easier we've started using an open-source content management system.

So say hello to the new Jumpgate Community. Our plans are still the same; to offer a central portal for roleplayers and players that want to immerse themselves in the Jumpgate Evolution universe outside of the game and to bring you news and information about the game as we learn it.

Things are a little rough around the edges at the moment, especially the forums but we should get them tidied up over the coming week or so. For newcomers to the Jumpgate universe, you can read more about the origins of the site here and how we've been inspired by and hope to build on the things we learnt from the site's prior incarnation as a community site set up for Jumpgate Evolution's predecessor.

In the mean time, thanks to all the folks from the old site and those that have supported our ideas over the past months to bring things up to date. I'd better get coding. Until then, we'll see you in space!

Don't forget to upload the new Jumpgate logo. I see that you're still using the old one.

edit: There are some problems with forum spamming which the ever vigilant Tikigod has already identified. I'm working on a fix this weekend.

Still a few bugs to iron out with the forums. Thanks for the registrations though, folks! In the mean time, we've added a new section for fan fiction so if you fancy yourself as the creative type and want something hosting outside of these forums, let us know!

Only issue I had was signing up Mulligan.

I put in all the details and got an error message. . . although it appears that my account is now working and my details have been accepted.

The site is looking very good.
