New Silverstone GP layout

I know this news is old but I thought I would make this thread because theres one for Bahrain.

As alot of you know silverstone is under consruction. Thet are making the new 'Arena complex' For F1 and MotoGP too. The changes are being made from Abbey to Brooklands (turn 11 to 15) and will feature a new straight.

What does everyone think about this and any suggestions for turn names

Another uptade. Some people may already know this but the straight between club and abbey (T10-11) may be used as the new start straight. If you look closely you can see a grid for 26 cars and at vale (T8) to the new turn 12 a new pit lane. If the new section is used for F1 the current start straight will still be used for 2010 and the new one for 2011.

Silverstone have announced that this year’s British Grand Prix will take place on the track’s new ‘arena’ layout. The modified circuit has been approved by Formula One Management, and with building work set to finish in March, everything should be ready in time for race weekend on July 9-11. formula1.com. Additional track length - 760m
Arena Grand Prix Circuit length - 5,900km/3.666 miles (from 5,140km / 3.194 miles)
Projected F1 Lap Time - 1:23.13 (4 seconds a lap longer)
Projected F1 Average Speed - 252kph/157mph
Projected F1 Maximum Speed - 302kph / 188mph
Turns - 18

some people are getting confused about the map image, just follow the red line for the new layout

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I heard that they are going to be having a new pit building and things but that won't be until for the 2010 race.

I think i did read somewhere that they where getting a new pit building but not for this year. They are replacing the grandstands and moving the new ones back for a better view and more run-off areas.

I really like this layout! The T-11/T-12 sequence looks super fast.

It's unfortunate they couldn't get rid of the T-8/T-9 chicane. Then we would have fast corners all the way from T-1 to T-13!

yes, the new t-11 and t-12 looks like a fast, high G section (my favorite kinda turns). i hope its definitely used for the formula 1 race
