Default Bourdais recieves penallty for Massa incident

Wow it looks like Ferrari are getting assistance again in the championship:

Quote:
Sebastien Bourdais has been handed a 25-second penalty for his clash with Felipe Massa in the Japanese Grand Prix.

The ruling drops the Frenchman from sixth to 10th in the final classification and promotes Felipe Massa from eighth to seventh.

As a result the Brazilian shaves another point off Lewis Hamilton’s world championship lead, trimming it to five points with two races remaining.

Bourdais tangled with Massa on lap 51, when he emerged from his second pit stop at the same time as the Ferrari driver turned in to the first corner.

The Toro Rosso took the inside line and the two cars touched at the apex, knocking Massa into a spin.

As well as doubling Massa's points haul, the penalty ironically benefits Bourdais' stable-mates Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber, who move up to sixth and eighth respectively.

Well it looks like they are at it again, Bourdais came out of the pits and had nowhere to go when Massa came along, it was for position so it was a racing incident... What are the thoughts on this one?

I thought this incident was an "avoidable racing incident". Turn 1 is quite wide, and Massa could've given Bourdais room but still made the pass down the left. Bourdais was exiting the pitlane and had to take a very tight and slow line into, and out of turn 1, so Massa would've eaten the Torro Rosso down the short straight and would have track position for the next left hand bend. The stewards probably viewed it as Bourdais punted Massa and gained a position.

Interestingly, Massa's comment on the incident was "As for the incident with Bourdais, I think there's little to say,” “I had already entered the turn and he hit me from behind, spinning me round.”

My opinion is that Massa turned in on Bourdais without being one car length ahead.

Well it looks like all the Massa/Ferrari fans have finally seen the light that they are being aided by the FIA ... No posts from any of them today

Well, I'm a Kimi/Ferrari fan and I think that penalty was BS.

Wonder what the LH/McLaren fans think of his entry into turn 1. He took that turn dirtier than online GRID players do.

Well i am in the mclaren camp but i think hamilton deserved a penalty because he caused mayhem at the start with a dangerous move.

As for the bourdais incident i dont see how they came up with this penalty as he held a tight line into the first turn and massa cut him off.I have to say i am dissapointed with hamilton and massa as they seem to be losing the plot instead of producing when it matters.Yes there is plenty of drama but to be honest the FIA made the rod for their own back after spa

F1 is way too harsh.
Bourdais finally gets a good performance in and finishes in the points, only to have his hard earned points stripped from him because of a stupid penalty given out by a ferrari favouring FIA.

but then wait, Toro Roso has ferrari engines?

F1 is quickly becoming a nanny state sport.. you cant race without the fear of a rediculous penalty.. I feel sorry for Bourdais but then what else could have possibly happened? Massa stood to benefit so it was inevitable what the outcome would be.. the 2008 championship has been totally undermined by the FIA stewards..

I think that Bourdais should get the penalty beacuse he just came out of the pits and block Massa into the first corner and got spin after beening hit by Bourdais.
