A CO representative has posted in this thread New Rapture Drivers now available (2.4.11)

If you're experiencing problems with Rapture Audio in the game, then please try updating to the recently released Rapture Drivers (2.4.11).

This latest driver release should improve performance, and also includes a new HRTF decoder for people who normally listen on headphones, which gives an especially good surround effect for those that use this.

Get Updates | Blue Ripple Sound

We'd appreciate it if you could please let us know if you experience any differences in performance once you've applied the latest drivers.

Thanks Helios, once i installed the update i get the famous 'savefile corrupted' error and the game just went ahead to create a new autosave file, now all my progress is gone.

Might wanna warn the people that this potential 'fix' may wipe peoples savefiles, not to mention, theres no difference with the sound issue after installing this driver. On a sidenote, i played hundreds of hours of F1 2010 on this PC and never got a "savefile corrupted" error, only just on 2011 just after installing this.

Well I updated the driver and still get sound lag to the same level.

It's the same no matter if I use Rapture or software.

SB x-fi.

A video of your problem posted in this thread would be really useful if you can manage it - It would help the developers when investigating the issue.

Thanks

Well i was able to fix the audio problems i had. After some googling i found out to edit the hardware_settings_config.xml file to look like so:

Code:
<audio_card>
<audio mixing="software" reverbs="1" voices="100" />
</audio_card>
Now the horrible stutter/jaggy sound is fixed, crisp clear audio, no more extreme hall effect and the game actually feels a lot smoother. Apparently its a common problem with onboard soundcard and the rapture3d software. I dont get why codemasters still use rapture3d, by looking on the internet i found so many people having trouble with it ..

I haven't updated the drivers, yet I am having no problems whatsoever with frame rates - they're actually better than F1 2010's were!

What kind of audio problems should I be looking out for?
