Default Multiplayer D&D 5x5 Grid

Does anyone know of a way for several people to play online on a 5x5 D&D grid?

Either by playing customizeable chess, in a password protected room, or by using an actual software designed for PnP grid battles, I'd appreciate any solution, as long as it supports multiplayer (and hopefully is free or of a low cost)

I'll have to check for you what the name was but I use a program that piggybacks off MirC. It has a hex map drawer, dice roller, chat option, and colours for GM text, actions blah blah blah. It also allows you to set an encounter so that it appears on everyone's chat window saying "this has happened" in nice god text. Will try get back to you with details

It is pretty decent but it's a paid for service. If you can get players to pitch together then it shouldn't be too bad.

The one I have been using is Open RPG and free. The character sheet is a bit bleh but if you using PCGen or another character generater then it's easy o keep track of haracters as a GM. Like I said before it uses IRC

The link for download is

http://www.openrpg.com/index.php?page=install

Has instructions too which is useful

It worked perfectly. We had our first session yesterday.
We mainly used it for the grid, uploaded our forum avatars as miniatures, along with some random monster avatars, and we also used the chat and dices. We use Skype for playing, but the chat is useful when your microphone is on mute cause your mouth is full xD

The person who made it is a genious, the grid can be hexagonal too, and the functionality with drawing and text on the grid is really cool for the GM, too.

Many many thanks my friend, this has solved so many arguements on "but I wasn't on this square, I was on that square!" xD
