ok, now for some of you old pen and paper players, how would you handle the following situation:
with your lowbie casterhvy party (sorc, wiz, bard, cleric, all lvl3) you get to a meeting inside a mountain complex with only 2 entrances (one of them on the top of the very high mountain) with an orc shaman who tells you that tomorrow here will be a meeting of the 5 orc leaders (he is one of them) to destroy all humans blahblahblah, the usual orc vs human stuff. but as he got you here and hes the ''good'' one he wants you to make out a plan how you could make that the opinions of the other 4 leaders wont match and so they cant start their assault on the humans, preferable goal is that all are dead in the end. but: simply killing them is not possible as they will just vote for another leader out of their clan and continue with the humanDdoooooooommm. so the best thing is to play them against each other somehow so they kill eachother and preferable their clans too. (yes, the orc who hired you rly does like humans). how would you manage the task? ofc you have to remain undetected as non-orcs usually arent allowed in this holy mountain thingy. (yes, we have a little problem there in our pnp group^^ we discussed about 3h for a plan and got nothing usefull out of it. only things like: we summon a rat or so, let it run by the leaders and then cast cause fear on one of them so he runs away. when he comes back hes labled as coward, which isnt liked under orcs nad maybe a fight will start......well, nothing that good^^) oh and another thing: how could a highlvl npc caster make herself unnoticable for that orc shaman, who was just looking through her, to kill him? we got no real conclusion here too, but we arent such hardcore dnd geeks like some here anyway :P so, let the thread grow ![]() lg Vis

Isnt there a low level Wizard spell in PnP like, suggestion or something??
Maybe suggesting to the 'Green Finger' orc tribe that the current 'Brown Hand' orc tribe warriors are the weakest that the tribe had seen for generations might start a war of sorts??

![]() Okay to me it seems that you have a suitable group for this task, as sorcerers, wizards and bards are all good at influencing others' opinions, either using spells or skills. As Kovalas has already said, you can try spells like Suggestion (only available to bards at level 3) or Charm Person (a level 1 spell for bards, sorcerers and wizards. Of course it all depends on if these spells are available to your group members. Charm Person would be best as you could use it to - for example - lure one of the other orc leaders away (perhaps with the help of your friendly shaman) and, earning his trust using the spell, convince him that one of the other leaders has been plotting against him and set them against each other. If none of that is available to you, you could try some good old tactics like using Invisiblity (sneak in to the meeting and cause a commotion that might end up going all violent). If you give me more details on your situation and let me know what spells your characters can use, I'll give you more suggestion. As for your other question, I'm not sure what you're asking about. What do you mean by "looking through her"?

Well it's kinda hard to give you an advice if we don't know what spells your group members can cast. It's a caster heavy group as you said so one would assume that you'll primarily solve problems using spells.
![]() If your bard is good at persuading/convincing people (decent Charisma, some ranks in Bluff, Diplomacy and maybe Sense Motive), you might be able to utilize the plan I mentioned - convincing one of the leaders that another one has been plotting against his clan - without spells. Will be tricky though. Orcs are kind of dull and therefore have poopy Will saves in general so Mind-Affecting spells are the way to go in my opinion.
