Regarding my previous errors with the DiRT demo on my system (Intel E6600, Nvidia 8800, Vista 64bit) I have solved my problems.
The Problem The game installed fine, and menus worked okay. However after game load the screen goes white and is intended to fade into the gameplay. However this did not happen and the screen stayed white What I tried Originally I tried the game on "Ultra" settings and I had the problem above. When changing settings I still had the same problem (the game would automatically ask to reload to change settings). However after a whole system reboot the game worked, I checked and it had been left on High settings. I then tried going back to Ultra setting, yet got the white screen. When changing back to High I got the white screen again. I took another system reboot without changing settings to get it working. The solution (summary) If you run a 8800 and get a white screen after load change your settings from Ultra to high, and reboot the WHOLE system, not just the game. After every graphics setting change you need to reboot system for some reason. Hope this helps some people get the game running, it’s great fun and hopefully the finished product will be issue free.... as this is large jump in terms of previous engines. |

Been stated all over the forum. Less than 1% of current PC's will be able to run Ultra. High is good enough and even my PC can run all high settings with motion blur off @ 1680X1050 and I wouldn't consider it a powerhouse.
