Ive heard maunal is faster than auto but....
i just spent a few hours trying to get the fastest time on Knockhill in the S4. I got about 1 sec a lap faster using auto gears. What going on? I know what Im doing as Ive been playing McCrae for years using maunal and auto. Can anyone enlighen me?? Thanks Audie |

Manual is MUCH faster than auto. You just have to learn how to use manual. You have to learn the ideal revs when to shift and also you have to learn how to use correct gearing to create wheelspin or prevent it. Proper gearing can help you get better grip and better speeds and make better use of torque.

Thanks for the reply but dont think thats it. I managed to get 10th in world on XBL so I know what Im doin. Seems to me auot was actually faster. I'll give it another go tomorrow just to double checkbut I wnet round that track a lot of times and auto was best.

In trd3 I was faster using Auto than Manual, even beating fast manual drivers.
The gearing in this is better than in CMR5, so with auto its possible. I personally have knocked off 10 seconds over my fastest Auto times using manual on the pc. |

If you're faster with auto, it's only due to your poor skill/knowledge of when to shift gears with manual. It's really that simple.
I usually don't listen to the gear-change light, but let the engine rev a little higher before changing. |
