Post Dont call it Colin McRae Rally.....

Quote:
Dubbed DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road in the US and Colin McRae: DIRT in PAL territories (due to name recognition), the game will hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC simultaneously in 2007
Quote:
we have been told that the entire 12.4 miles of the legendary Pike's Peak International course and all of its 150+ turns through the Rocky Mountains will be included.
Quote:
In addition to its point-to-point races, DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road will also boast desert-ridden Rally Raid competitions in Dakar-style trucks and 4x4s, Rally Cross events that switch between dirt and road racing, and 850bhp heavyweight car Hill Climb challenges situated on cliff sides. Additionally, the game will offer a mode dedicated to each of the European, International and Global rally championships and will feature official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars.

for the sake of full disclosure, these are concept images using the in-game models, not actual screens and I don;t want anyone, down the line, claiming we passed them off as such.

obviously we hope the game looks this good and that's what we're aiming for, but these things are always subject to change.

WOW!
Those car models look breathtaking(Hope we get to customise our car paints and decals!!!) ! However, in the actual game, I wish they change the ground textures a bit more to sync with the car models. I presume the graphics will retain their excellent quality and won't lend a video-game-ish appeal as the previous cmrs did.

The name CMR: Dirt seems like a fresh change in the series, but I really don't care about the name as long as the game is good.

Hmm...my concern now is; will these advanced graphics demand highly advanced PC machinery too??? My pc only has a modest 128mb ATI radeon card...

Otherwise, I'm very excited about this new arrival!!!!!!!!

Well. the game is for "next generation" consoles and PC. So, I believe that it will be opimized for Windows Vista and DirectX10, making us go running to buy a new graphics card!

I agree, not a pure rally anymore...
I am a bit anxious...
I, REALLY, do hope there still stays a change to play a real rally
I do not care about some kind of, dirt/sand , what so ever, thing.
What comes to those "screenshots", you, with older rigs, please do not bother, I think. Not with big hopes, anyway
Might be, there will be a way to reduce details.
Me, personally, am starting to save money just now, it is to be needed 2007.

Ps. Of course, if there still is, an old, traditional, rally in it.
AND....
If game is sold by 100 € and rally-part is only 20 percent of it, I will buy some bottles of moonshine instead. , and stay with RBR.

Ok, I think this game is running rapidly away from what Colin actually has been doing his whole life; RALLYING! Ok, good to expand a bit, but come on, rallying is the main part of his career, so don't let other motorsports he's not been involved in ruin the orginal concept! Nice screens though..
