Default Why?

Why is the next one for new gen only?

Surely theres life left in the ps2, look at what EVOLUTION stuidos did with Rally Evolved.

disappointed I will have to splash out serious money on a new console

Hi Kasabian

With the game not being released until next year, many people will have already purchased a next-gen console well before.

Also, it's the perfect time to take the CMR series forward, to try and enhance and improve the game experience as much as possible. CMR 04 and 2005 especially pushed the PS2 to it's limits in many ways.

I'm looking forward to seeing CMR'07 in all it's glory....

Thanks
BeDevil

And MANY more people will still be playing their PS2s!!!

Doesn't make sense to me. Though I guess the next gen consoles will need all the development attention they can get, especially Sony's system... Or so I hear...

Anyways, as I mentioned in another thread: North American PS2 owners could use another CMR.

Nudge nudge, wink wink.

Personally I think Colin Mcrae 2005 pushed the Xbox to its limits as well as the PS2 and it has never ran right on my 6800 Ultra based PC. So if Codies want to take the game further then the next-generation consoles are the only way to go.

I think that has more to do with the game being poorly coded for the 6800s than anything else. I was getting better performance with Need For Speed: Most Wanted on my 6800 over the 360 version. COD2 also ran just as good on my PC as it did on the 360.

I think you are probably right or maybe there is something iffy about the 6800s. I have had two and they have both had problems with some games not just Mcrae 2005

If you look at "ideas thread", you have to see that if Codies fulfil, even, a half of that, it needs quit a powerful and modern rig.
And that means new technology, new ways to program etc.
So sad as is it, to those who have an old one.
