Will you buy another Codemasters game if Codemasters stick to using GFWL ( Games for Windows LIVE )?

ABA has call me out on boycotting DiRT2:

Instead you are waiting around for Blur which is a blantant copy of Midnight Club 2's power up mode and Split Second, a Burnout wannabe.

Oh and didn't I read somewhere that Flatout UC uses G4WL? Did you boycott that game? Noooooo
And here is my response:

I would say F1 a no buy, but not sure I would buy F1 if it had no GFWL, since F1 going to be more of a sim racer.

If we do not put our collective foot down this year and get game makers to stop using 'Games for Windows LIVE", then we will be stuck with GFWL for ever and PC gaming online will pay the price!!!!

If I had DIRT 2, I would be hosting rallycross races and having a blast online. GRID derby racing on dirt. I would not mind the rough racing some are complaining about online with DIRT 2.

ABA, you got to agree that GFWL is not a good online solution, there got be a better solution that will let us all race online?
GFWL stole my game

So I'm starting this poll so we can go on the record if we will continue to buy Codemasters racing games if Codemasters continue to use "Game for Windows LIVE". Your name will be posted in the poll results.

Before you vote and your not familiar with the issue unsupported players are having with GFWL and will continue if Codmasters stick to using GFWL, give these threads a read.

GFWL stole my game

Problem with cd-key and Windows Live

Attention. This game is a scam, as it works on Windows-Live

Will Codemasters give new CD-key to those players in unsupport countires that need...

Steam vs GFWL ( Games for Windows LIVE ) and unsupported countries.

Does GFWL help prevent piracy or help create piracy?

A major discussion of GFWL and DRM at BioShock 2 forum:

A message about PC specs, Games for Windows Live, and SecuROM from Elizabeth

Don't feel right buying DIRT 2 if others are getting screwed out of their hard earn dollars.
GFWL stole my game

Please Codemasters and Microsoft fix this injustice to online racing! Let the WHOLE world race online like we do with GRID and Flatout 2!! Will F1 use GFWL?

Any game company that brings back the old iron wall situation of cold war offending billions of humans should be swept off the market. We should not allow them to split the world and disturb the process of growing together.

This ain't no little bug, this is an intended offense to some billion people on earth. I will miss CM racing games. This company will cease. Not caused by piracy, caused by ignorance. Some may think caused by white pride. Neither can we help CM, nor should we. They have been fully aware of the consequences and made their decisions. Suicidal decisions meant to offend others.

I didn't think we would be agreeing but both MS and CM have dropped a major ******* on this one . . .no policing for this kind of thing means their absolute arrogance will continue wherever they wish it to.

The mod on the GFWL who closed the thread also dropped a major *******, apart from his attitude of yet another power mad mod he didn't seem to realize that his comments about having to put a disclaimer on the box actually supported my argument, and then dug an even deeper hole when he passed the buck on GFWL not having any responsibility for what goes on the box, specifically the sticker on the front with the warning instead of hiding it away on the back and thereby is intended to deceive.

So what we now have is an official spokesperson for GFWL first saying what has to be on the box as a legal requirement but expects us to believe that even if it was put on in letters a micron tall it has nothing to do with them, I have pushed my point about a sticker on the front of the box in a number of forums and for sure they have noticed because again the spokesperson has passed the buck for that to the packaging company who make the boxes . .lie after lie after lie . .make it up as you go along brigade . .pass the buck brigade . .my god . .is this modern business practice, they should hang their collective heads in absolute shame.

I understand the frustration of it not working in your country and if you want to not buy future games untill that's sorted out then that's fine.

Personally i like GFWL and think that it will raise the standards of pc games in the future.

Don't get me wrong. I'm german, one of the privileged.

My point is not, that it doesn't work here. It does. My point is: i don't want to be connected with criminals. And criminals they are. I don't support criminals. I am not their victim. German courts decided against Microsoft and forbid such practice explicitly. It is illegal in germany, and it is illegal too in the whole EU. I haven't yet checked out wether it is legal in US, but i doubt any company that denies service to someone completely has the right to decide what happens to his software in US. I assume it's illegal all over the world.

Now such are the standards they invent: Criminal standards.

gamespy account system feels more fair then gfwl, created it wrong 1st time? no problem, create a new1. and a game key that works with disc, not with some 3rd company that doesn't support all countries. TDU is a fine example of working keys, protected rights and functional multiplayer (atleast the idea is right, not the way how it REALLY worked lol just my opinion).

GFWL is no problem whatsoever here, and affects nothing in the gameplay, so its a complete non issue.
