I always like beta tests when we have the time to do them (especially when I know you're going to love the handling in all its weightshifting loveliness...), but it will be tight on DiRT 2. PC perhaps, we shall see.

If the beta is limited to the 15-20 people on the list it could be done in a less formal way. Instead of a single beta build that is polished to a certain level, it could be very early builds with new versions every couple of weeks with a readme file telling us what to focus our attention on. I would be perfectly happy driving a gray box with wheels around a track if it meant I could give you feedback on the handling before the game is released. Distribution could be as simple as uploading it to a password protected FTP site.

I work in a creative profession and I know when you work hard on a project its difficult to step back and see it for what it is. The handling could be great or it could just be better than it was and I think having fresh eyes on it could only help ensure that its truly great. I think its safe to say to people that volunteered genuinely care about the final outcome and will give better feedback than the hundreds of people that click a "sign up for beta!" link on some newsletter email. If you can please the loyal fans then the rest of the world should be an easy sell.

Uncle Chewy, is there plans to release a demo for the PC to see how well DIRT 2 runs on the hardware out there in time to make changes to final version before final get release?

It was great Codemasters release a demo for GRID, but it was to late to fix all the bugs the demo show poeple were having with their computers before final version of GRID was release.

Don't feel right buying DIRT 2 if others are getting screwed out of their hard earn dollars.
GFWL stole my game

Please Codemasters and Microsoft fix this injustice to online racing! Let the WHOLE world race online like we do with GRID and Flatout 2!! Will F1 use GFWL?

Completely agree with this, it might take some time to download, even on broadband, but i feel feedback on handling is probably the most important thing in a racing game, i too wouldn't mind driving a box with wheels
