You’re probably looking at your screen wondering what in the heck we did to the my.lotro.com you used to know.
We improved it! A lot! In fact, it’s easier if I just give you the big honkin’ list o’ goodness so here you go:
Single Sign On
All LOTRO web services are now tied to a single sign on system. Once you log into any LOTRO site you’re logged into all of them. For example if you log into the forum, you’ll also be logged into the Lorebook and my.lotro.com.
Also, if you use the ‘remember me’ option to remain logged in, you will remain logged into all LOTRO sites.
New Themes
New color themes are now available. The layout and content of your pages will stay the same but the colors will change based on your character’s race.
- Base - this is the standard MyLOTRO blue
- Monster -* Red
- Elf - Purple
- Dwarf - Red
- Hobbit - Green
- Race of Man -* Orange
Notes:
- Only Character pages use the new themes.
- Player blog pages use the base theme.
- Character and Kinship pages use the theme associated with that race (e.g. A Kinship using a Dwarf charter will display using the Dwarf Red Theme. Note: a ‘mixed’ Kinship will use the basic MyLOTRO theme).
Rating System
- Users can now rate each other’s blog posts.
- Only registered users can rate posts
- Users can only rate each post once.
Widget Display Upgrades
- Widgets, such as your friends list and quest completion logs, will now display scroll bars instead of page links. You can scroll to the end of the list instead of clicking through pages.
- Scrollbars only appear when there are too many results for that widget to fit in the box
- While scrolling within a widget, additional results will be retrieved on the fly.
Home Page Improvements
- Featured blog display
- Both the Highest rated posts based on the ratings average and the most rated posts are displayed.
- Recently updated player blogs on the my.lotro.com home page now display more blogs and more information
- Turbine employee blog updates are now displayed separately to make them easier to locate.
Image Gallery
- All players now have a personal image gallery
- Kinships also have image galleries - any member with admin or editor access can manage this tool.
Wall
- All users now have a “Wall” widget on their blogs
- Any person viewing your page can add a short comment to the wall
