Default Q: Is Cleave and Greater Cleave "good enough"/worth it?

Well the question might sound like a maximizing question but i just really wonder if it is worth it to take that path with my new alt Barb (He took power attack as first feat and will soon be lvl3).
Are they worth the feats at later lvls?
Is the feat "turned on" like power attack or do i have to hit the key all the time like for intimidate?

You have to hit a key, personally I wish I hadnt taken it as I rarely use it anymore

So what would you have taken instead of Cleave/Greater Cleave if you had the choice today?

My fighter so far has power attack and Cleave..personally i love them, I admit that with a strong party of melee's i wont get chance to use it much.
But when i duo with my boyfriend it rocks, as both our fighters have it and you can kill all surounding kobolds in once swing hehe

I have it 2 and think it's simply to complicated to use. U can't target or it is blocked. Because of that u can't see any damage numbers. Against equal lvl foe, after doing a cleave, i've never been able to see any damage when targeting after the cleave. So i'm not sure if it works at all. But maybe i don't use it right.

I've taken it, but I also concur that it's not easy enough to use. I really need to bind it to a mouse key. IMO it's slightly nerfed because you have to target one foe and then face them - try doing that against a bunch of spiders!

I also got Cleave and Great Cleave and I think they are so-so. If you can time it right they can be effective but as Thorsson said it's a pain to have to target one enemy and face it.

Something to remember is that they are on different timers, which is a good thing

Ive taken 2 feats as a 8/2 barb/fighter I wish I hadnt, cleave is 1 and b'astard sword prof is the other.

If i had my time again the feats Id take would be:
Toughness, PowerAttack, Precission Attack, Weapon focus Slashing, Improved Crit Slashing, Dodge

So basically id replace cleave with dodge and b'astard sword with precision attack. Why you ask? I generally use 2 handers these days (high level mobs dont melee very well but nuke like mad, kiling them fast is important) and decent b'astard swords are rare as hell (best ive found is a normal +3). Id have precision to take on the eally high AC stuff like the Drow in TS as having +4 to hit when needed would be really nice
