CRM 2 - Nor Running Correctly

Can any one help.

I have just received CRM 2 for the PC as a gift, however, which ever way I try to to run the program, wether Full, Part ot whatever, I seem not to actually rally.

The Program allows me to enter all the setup specs, name of driver and selection of Car etc, but when I go to the championship rally it seems to halt and think about it the reverts back to the windows desktop and no futher.

I am missing something during the install or something during this phase of the setup ?.

The PC spec is

Windows 98 SE
Niv Gforce 256
DirectX 9 - Will not allow me to install 7 again.

What is the resoultion for this program, it seems to changed it to a lower resoultion and display setting ?. Could this be a potential problem as well.
