Post iLink possible on PS2?

Is it possible to link several Ps2 consoles together like in Gran Turismo 3 via iLink?

no offense, but ilink is so dam useless, just wait for the modem for ps2, then life will be better.
what makes me mad is ps2 wuz gonna release a kit which came with linux, 40 gig hard drive, modem and high res vga adapter for your comp monitor but they scrapped the whole thing but if they release the modem then what about the hd? they havee only one slot so i guess it will be a usb hd, but thats slow unless the ps2 has usb 2 which i highly doubt

i.link is useless because many developers are not wasting the time and money to develop there games to utilise it.

I regularly hook up GT3 with 5 or 6 PS2s, (including steering wheels for most), and I can assure you all the people at these gatherings do not think it is USELESS!

Infact, its a shame the Codemasters have not decided to support it with there games, where they did support the crappy link cable in the PSX days.

We where all looking forward to i.linking in games like Toca, with damage, heaps of tracks and cars, but now that is only a dream. Quite sad really.

That said, modem support would also be nice, but I dont think that is being developed either!

Note the linux kit was recently released and is still on sale in Australia, so I'm guess it should too be available from where you are!!!???

no offense to you codemasters, but your being really stupid when you take away ilink and online play on ps2. Ps2 has no power for split screen, as shown by the multiplayer failure that was WRC.
