Default I Bought the Game Yesterday

I bought the game yesterday and get this it requires 3.5gig of Hd Space!!!! Installed it and put my dead zone to 1 click off no dead zone and away I went with all the graphics and effects turned up to high. Have to say folks was well pleased as after playing the demo I thought I would be so dissapointed. The only issue I have is that the sound could be better and there could be more options in the sound settings. All in all very pleased and from first impressions it seems that the company who ported it have done a very good job!

Default Much better

I only have the standard microsoft sidewinder not the force feedback sorry. As for comparison with the demo, there is none! It is that much better, handles how it should, like C McCrae 2. The sound is terrible though. The pace notes are fine though sound wise but the car engine noise sounds terribble and the volume keeps fluctuating. I have it on high sound quality so shall try it on a lower setting. Pity there is not more options in the sound control. Fantastic game though so I shall hang on in there with the crap sound in the hope that they bring out a patch to fix it!

Default Demo probs

The demo didn't crash but it kept stuttering, kind of small lock ups. The handling in the demo was absolutely rubbish. I am happy to report that the game runs like a dream on my system,(Athlon 2000xp, Gainward Gf4200, 512mb ddr ram) really good with the only problems as I said above been crappy intermittent sound.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the preview, sounds good, my set up is very similar.
I ordered mine from Play.com, it says released on 20th June. I would have it today from Gameplay, but £8 dearer.
I'll just have to wait.

Best wishes

Dave

Default Strange

Just think it strange how I got it on Wednesday from my local gameshop(Paisley, Scotland) then got a mail from codemasters today telling me it is out today. Anyway I have just completed Japan (very wet)and have Sweden next. Not sure I like snow but something to look forward to. Usa is really good as well I like the scenery. So far I have completed 5 rallies and won them all, thanks in part to the excellent pace notes and not trying to drive 100% all the time. Don't actually know how many there is to complete the championship but at the moment I have 100 points with the nearest car to me having 48 so quite pleased.

Default It Is True

Only thing I changed in the handling was the dead zone, put it to min, or none should I say. Very predictable handling, yes it is true, nothing like the demo!

Is it better then the updated demo or just better then the demo? The update on the demo worked very well also for the steering.
