Having previously owned:
CMR TOCA CMR2 (several copies) TOCA2 I was keen to try CMR3 and have been waiting for months for the demo. I love rallying and own several other titles. So, get the demo.... Install and get some bollx about Media Player, oh well, move on. Start up... like the look of this. Configure the logitech wingman cordless - all very easy. Bump up the graphics to something decent, easy again. Start the UK stage, gamma is a bit dark, exit, change gamma by one, go back in, gamma is a bit light. Switch back to dark, adjust brightness on monitor, looks ok now. Start the stage, get to the first corner, turn around.... game freezes. Try again, happens every time. After many tests, it's determined that this happens when the sun comes into view and can be solved by runing at 640x480x32. 95% complete it says so I cut it some slack. Have a play around on the other stages and think "this is for me, very well put together". So now I get my MSFFW out of storage where it's been since I finished with CMR2. Plugs it it, calibrates in CP, all looks good, start the demo, configure it up - IT SUCKS!! Play around with the settings and finally get brake and accel to work on different pedals but the pedal function is backwards (full down for no input, full up for full throttle/brake), no amount of changing will get it work properly. Set up buttons for acc/brake and set off again. FF is cr@p, the only way I can get decent FF is to start the stage, pause it, unplug the power from the wheel, plug it back in, resart the stage and that's it. FF is now fine but I can't use the pedals. And yes, I have downloaded the patch, I have tried the command line switches, I have re-done DX9 with the controller on. You've probably guessed by now that the answer to my original question id "No", I am not going to buy this game. I have now spent about 12 hours trying to get a driving game to work with a wheel. I can't use a decent graphics setting without it crashing. I can't play Lan play. I like the game, I can play with cr@p graphics and keys or pad but I spent a lot of money on my wheel and I want to use it, I spend a lot of money on my internet connection I want to use it. As with so many things, a good idea poorly implemented. |

I'm well impressed with the demo, and ordered it from a company in Jersey, £17.99.
I use a Wingman joystick, I can't get near the times that some people have been putting on the forum, but, so what. I love some of the new features, ie...... The movement of the crew in the car, the tape that breaks rather than stopping you dead, the rain on the windscreen, the wipers, ect. The list goes on. I hope I enjoy it as much as CMR2, I'm sure I will. I hope everyone else who buys it enjoys it also. Best Wishes, Dave |

I got a terrible lag in some points,so not the whole time, but only at SOME POINTS.It is really odd.I only get a lag when driving in the waterpuddle in Japan, when coming near to trees and when spinning around.I don't get it.This can't be my PC.
Cause if my PC was the problem, the game should lag the whole time, shouldn't it? Is this solved in full version or not? Can someone please answer me? Codemasters or not,i really need an answer.
