My thoughts of the game...

Now that I've finally managed to play the demo, I think....

- I liked the much more sensitive steering in cmr2 better, tho I guess the cmr3 is maybe more realistic? I hope there will be some sensitivity adjustments for the steering in the full version, as it was in cmr2.

- The car feels more realistic on highspeed asphalt/tarmac, and the general sense of high speed is better.

- I hate games that won't let you mix analouge steering/keyboard controls. I always prefer to do the gearshifting and handbraking with the keyboard, while using analogue accelerator/braking/steering. Hope the full version will let you mix joystick/keyboard. Or maybe I just didn't figure it out?

- "soft" obstacles that is pushed with you crash into them looks and feels much more realistic.

- If you apply to much trottle in sharp corners, the car spins around... feels more realistic than cmr2

- The tracks and landscape seems better and feels more "real", especially the swedish track.

- The menusystem is slow. Faster in cmr2, clicketyclicketyclick-start! Now it more like click.... click.... click... click.... start

- General... probably better than cmr2 once get used to it... but I don't think i will be as amazed with cmr3 as I was with cmr2 the first time I tried it

- I probably need to buy a new steering wheel and pedal set... cmr2 simply wore it out.... the acc./brake jumps all over the place, and the steering wheel has the same problems, but some days it works better... today it was fine


I saw a post here with somebody comparing cmr to rallysport challenge. I've only tried the demo of rally sport challenge, but that's one of the "flattest" driving experiences I've seen.

The only racing game I've tried that comes close to cmr2/3 in driving experience is papyrus nascar 2003 (or was it 2002?). Maybe it's even better?

Some people seem very disappointed with this cmr3 demo... I've preorder cmr3 like 3 months ago... So I guess I'm stuck with it

Yes I too thought of the similarities with rallysport challenge.
I get a sense that the car model is sitting on a point when viewing the replays!
It just looks funny, not real at all.
The damage modeling is great !!!!!!!!!!
But everything else is ho hum....average.
I hope the final product is going to be alot better than this...
I've never returned a product I purchased yet ! But if this game sucks when it finally hits the canadian shelves, it might be the first.
