Something i just thought off...
So far i've always been choosing the weapons at my disposal based on the DPS rating in the tooltip. But since almost all of the damage you do is with landing one special attack after the other, i'm assuming that the standard attacks arent really an issue. So i was wondering, does the weapon speed also affect the speed with which you can land the special attacks or not? Because if not, i guess it would be most effective if i chose a slower but higher damage weapon in stead of faster weapon with a lower damage rating. I'm dying to try it out, but am waiting for the patching now

Oh dang, i must've missed that one.
Thanks for pointing that out ![]() but it is indeed a difficult issue is it not? So far all of my weapons have been quest rewards... i am constatly in doubt wether or not the dual-hand i have at my disposal is better then the two single-handers's or not. Comparing two of the same type is simple, but not so between Dh or Sh. So i always hang on to the highest ones of both types. But i always remain in doubt what would be best. I use the attack rating in the char window to decide now, so i simply pick the setup with gives the highest number there, but i am unsure how that number would relate to special attacks because so far, the one-handed weapons almost always win Oh and a small tip about dual-wielders (i'm sure i'm kicking in an open door here) but if you have two single wielders with differnt DPS ratings, it is best to put the one with the highest dps rating in youre main hand. Youre actual attack rating (that you can see in you char screen) changes when you switch them between youre hands... and it's always higher with the higher rated weapon in your main hand. |

Yeah, very difficult indeed. atm im personally using a 2h wich i got from a quest reward a few lvls back. i still keep hanging on to some good one handers, but i like big numbers, i guess thats why im using 2h
even thou the dps is prolly lower. but since im stil low lvl, if i kill a mob in 10 secs or 12 dossent really matter, im sure later in the game this here is an issue i will be looking more into, or hopefully it will be more clear by then

Two-handed weapons obviously remove the ability to dual-wield, but balance that with more damage. However, two-handers also make most, if not all, of the Strikes line one fervour point more expensive I am told by two-handed wielders, so that is going to slow down your special attack damage output in a big way. Just my thoughts. Shane |

personally i prefer 2handed weps, and i duo with another champ of same lvl/race frequently and the aggro normally bounced between us so they seem kinda equal. id say go with whichever u prefer to look at....me im a dwarf so 2handed axe for the win

I have just changed from a 2.4 MH and 2.1 OH to a 1.9 MH and 1.7 OH and have noticed that although I have a slight drop in dmg at the top end the speed I do dmg at and the consistancy I do the dmg is improved greatly, combat seems much more fluid and I'm doing damage quicker.

Still confused at times about what weapons to use
![]() My champion seems a little bit like my Mercenary in DAoC, and there I went for really slow hard hitting weapon MH and a fast weapon OH. Problem is the weapons I like are all slow (axes) so so far usually using an axe MH and a sword or hammer/mace OH. No dual weilding axes unfortunately

This was just what i was hoping to find on the forums
.Now i hate to compare this game with WoW but i think you could compare champions with a mixture of rogue and fury warrior. Here the attacks are not instant but they hit multiple times and by some thinking ive decided to go for weapon damage, as a rogue. I think this makes the most sense as all attacks are weapon damage +x.
