Loving my Burglar. Definately more of a thinking persons class and it really starts to open out at 16+
I think they can be a high dps class as well if you know what you're doing. The mezz skills are really helping me out with dealing with multiple adds. I found today, at 20, I could take on 3 equal level mobs but you have to know how to use your skills. Here's what I do - mezz the first mob with the long mezz, aim and crit the second taking him down to 1/3 of his health and quickly finish him off. I apply a trick and the lvl 20 stun to the second mob and take him to half health, then apply another trick and heal to full and finish him off. By this time the long mezz has just worn off and you can finish the third off as usual. The thing is, it looks so cool whislt your doing it ![]() Main problem I have is with hunting. Can people see us? I've had so many mobs stolen from me it's not funny :/ If you're just starting out, definatly try and continue to 20 as it's a fun and sometimes complex class! I'm currently at lvl 12, and i just got my first fellowship maneuver trigger, its awesome ^^ Riddle rocks when against multiple mobs, the Burglar self heal ability is awesome too, either when hunting to avoid downtime or in the above mentioned situation. I also just have got Aim and thats a whole lot of damage if attacking from stealth and behind, yet i find that beyond burst damage my Captain friend can easily out-DPS me. But DPS is not so much my bother as i've got so many cool tools to debuff and CC my foes -- and will eventually get even more down the road of leveling.
That was my Burglar experience up to now

Mischievous Glee, Set a trick on them and then hit the ability and you get a large heal and then some smaller heals over time.

Well, i really love playing a burglar,
Currently at level 23 i can crowd control 3 NPC's (with all my CD's up) and dps the 4th. Regarding DPS, my DPS is pretty high, and the proof for it is the fact i pull aggro ![]() All in all its a very fun class to play, you got dozens of buttons which all are being used in a fight (unlike the other game people for some reason like to compare to).

I've got my Burglar to 19 now, soon to ding 20. Even now I can just about take on 3 even cons or 2 mobs up to 2 levels higher at the same time. It's just so fun to have someone stop and stare as I take on 3 mobs that would have killed them in seconds.
As the OP said, having people stealing mobs off of us due to us being in stealth is a pain and often wastes my 'Aim' skill. It's not a serious issue but it's irritating. Then again to many other players it appears that we are stealing THEIR mobs when we beat them to it so I guess it plays both ways. |

Althought they do reasonable DPS, I've found burglars really aren't a DPS class, group with champions and hunters of equivalent level and you'll see how poor our DPS is once you get to level 25+ - in fellowships, I see someone dieing and the only way to assist is to stun the mob, we can't do enough DPS to pull aggro at all unless lucky enough to chain critical hits. Of course if you can chain critical hits, DPS goes through the roof especially with the three bonus attacks (Advantage and Double-Edged) giving more chances of continuing the crit chain.
Due to our multiple forms of CC, good evasion skills, self-heal, and debuffs I find most burglars can solo 3 mobs at +2 levels above them at once (I could theoretically do more since I rarely get down to half health but I run out of power, dunno about you all) and if the going gets tough, "hide in plain sight" makes a burglar virtually unkillable although you'll need to wait 'till level 30 to get that, it's absolutely the best "panic button" in the game, has saved my burglar many times. But you're quite right, there's no way we can prevent Hunters, Minstrels, or Loremasters from tagging our intended target whilst we're sneaking up. As for whether or not they can see us, it depends. If you're in stealth mode then no, they can't see you at a distance. If they get to within a certain range they have a very high chance of detecting you but bow range is longer than detect range so it's not always the Hunter doing it deliberately (although sometimes it is, some people are just tossers).
