Mohammed Kaif hit an unbeaten 99 to guide India to victory by two wickets against Sri Lanka in the opening match of the Indian oil cup .
India winning the toss put the Sri Lankans in and even got off to a solid start Jayasuira(71) & Atapattu(51) but after they were removed they never continued the good work .
in reply India were in all sorts of bother early on at 57/4 but Yavraj Singh(30) and Kaif hit good knocks to see them home with 10 balls to spare

An unbeaten 69 by Tillekaratne Dilshan saw the Sri Lankans win the latest match of the Indian Oil cup series ,after winning the toss West Indies captain Brian Lara decided to have a bat which turned into a nightmare as the Sri Lankan seamers tore through the top order eventually being dimissed for 137 ,in reply Sri Lanka were in all sorts of bother early on ,at one stage 57/5 until Dilshan and Chandana(19) steadied the ship .

Harbaijan Singh was the unlikey hero for India hitting an amazing 62 off 31 balls ,the winning runs came off the last ball in whats been one of the closest one day internationals ever played ,this was after the West Indies looked good for their first points of the tournement ,Darren Ganga(71) and Shiv Chanderpaul(75no) put on good knocks Sylvester Joseph chipping in with a nice 62 ,but India struck back after a slow start Mohammed Kaif hit a quick-fire 61 ,going into the final 3 balls India needed 12 runs ,2 of them were dispatched for 4 ,came to the last ball and what Pedro Collins thought was a dot ball to win the match turned sour as the umpire signalled a no-ball ,the next one was hammered for 6 by Harbaijan Singh over Collins head to spark chaotic scenes in the terraces

Sri Lanka who were already in the final against India beat the West Indies in the last round robin match to leave the Windies point less for the tournement ,they looked a bit jaded from that last ball defeat against India the night before ,it all started badly when Darren Ganga went first ball of the match lbw to Malinga ,Brian Lara showed some resitance having flopped in the matches before with a defiant 69 but other gifted their wickets ,in reply Sri Lanka couldnt get going and the West Indies fast bowlers were on top until Jayathna let lose to hit a brilliant 69 off 46 balls ,Upal Chandana weighed in with 25 and hit the winning runs

Yavraj Singh smashed an unbeaten 119 as India won the final by 49 runs .
in a runs galore final India posted a huge 350/6 with Dravid(50) and Tendulkar (51) offering support but Yavraj helped it on with a 77 ball 100 cracking 13 boundries .
In reply the Sri Lankans were always going to find the 7 an over rate a bit much but they started good but as wickets fell the run rate plummeted ,H.Singh was the main destroyer taking 4-60 off his 9 overs.
